If ffxi was real, then this ^ would still not be considered funny.

Also:

- If some old lady starts telling a boring story, it's even worse because you have no choice but to listen to the whole thing and have no control over your actions until she's done.

- The social landscape of ffxi would dramatically change one day when a Galka refuses to sit in the back of the line for chocobo rentals.

- If someone was chasing you with a gun, you could just zone into the next county and be safe.

- If someone makes fun of you, no matter how mature you are, you will be forced to focus on them for the next 10 seconds or so until the hate wears off.

- You no longer have an excuse to be late to work because the boss can just say, "Well, why didn't you set your HP here and warp?"

- Air-travel is faster, although as boring as ever

IF FFXI was real.. Death would be meaningless.. unless you were a Main character....AND even if you were you'd return in the last mission ^^

There would be no use for ladders because you have DRGs who could just jump there easily.

You'd never have to worry about people robbing your mog house since no one but you can access it.

There wouldn't be any Superman movies but Dragoon movies since DRGs can leap tall buildings in a single bound. :D

Walking to the store would be quite an adventure because of aggro.

You'll worry about your dog being attacked by Diremites and Chigoes.

You'll never want to go out after night because of all of the undead that will spawn--unless you're a Monk or a White Mage.

Call For Help would replace 911.

If FFXI was real, you wouldnt think much of it. Id be like regular life, people would sit in there mog houses and well...someone would have to make up a online game. Then we'd all play that!
Would be cool if you could go from real life to ffxi for a couple...years

No way I'd stay in my mog house, if FFXI was real we'd be able to use magic and fight really great battles (without even risking our lives thanks to the Home Point system).

I'd spend most of my day outside getting stronger and killing mobs, here in the real the closest thing we have to that is killing cockroaches with Raid...

You must mean Paladins, and White Mages? Monks are only good against Skeletons-type, and Corse-type mobs. Ghosts are highly resistant to Blunt.

If ffxi was real, things would be expressed as either gimping or buffing. For example, when women were fighting for the right to vote, many men would've complained, "Buffing women with the power to vote is going to gimp my vote! My vote was special because us men were the only ones with the ability to vote!"

Or, on a smaller scale, someone might remark:

"Yeah, I took the job. It's really gimping my social life, but I get nice buffs like "401k" and "steady paycheck". You really can't get those buffs unless you go with full time job"

Or, with inter-personal relationships: "Yeah, I'm dating Ron. It's sort of gimping my freedom and time with friends, but "steady good sex" is a really nice buff. I couldn't pass it up."
