A lot that started with me have quit the game. I don't know how many are left, not got to play for a while due to me d/c as soon as I log on.

from what i heard alot of the xbox players didnt feel like being involved with a game thats been around for 4 yrs+. my friends brother said " dude it felt like i was the new kid in a rich kid school, an im dirt poor."

honestly i heard alot of players say they wish they had kept the xbox server up.

Thats one of the problems people have. The main fault seems to be the subscription fees, most 360 players with internet access have gold live accounts and a lot object to paying a extra subscription fees. While a lot of other ffxi forums fight about RMT or underperforming players our xbox ffxi forum is full of flamewars about the fees. One reason why players who started playing ffxi and quit is because of the time required to achieve anything in the game.

Honestly, I don't know what their problem is with coming into a world where there are already people who have excelled in the game. When NA PS2 was released, there were already tons of JPN players were Lv.75, and now NA people who started playing months before on the PC who had reached Lv.75 already. Just means a lotta different people around to help you. haha

I've only run into one person who was playing on the X360, and he was already a PC player who just switched over. He said the only difference he noticed was much less lag on the X360. Which I thought was interesting.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody in my LS is a X360 player, but we're basically 55/45 split of PC/PS2 in my LS. But keeping the X360 servers just didn't make sense. The whole point of having JPN, NA, and EU people on the server was to form a diverse community. If you only have X360 NA people on one server it kinda defeats that whole idea.

you gotta remember when the PC launch in FFXI happened their were a ton of players coming over. not to mention Rise of the Zilart was still fairly new. now take into account what the Xbox 360 players have to contend with. not one game an 1 expansion, but one game an 3 expansions. while the rest of us have rank 10, all zilart missions done, all cop missions done.

then its like the other poster said. you have gold membership fees, an now FFXI fees. guess what the xbox 30 days that were free are now up an many choose not to continue,

Hell, I knew how hard it was at the PC US release with the elitist JP players who thought NAs were a bunch of morons because we were all new. (Note, this isn't ALL JP players, but there WAS a lot of "NA {no thanks!}" back then.) Now, you have not just the JP, not just the EU, not just the PS2, not just the NA, but EVERYONE at the same time saying, "God, I hate these new XBox players. They're so dumb!"


That, combined with the difficulty of the game in general, coupled with missions upon missions, then countless quests, high prices for spells and items they MUST have to compete with those of us who've been around longer... Imagine all that! It's way worse than the NA release.
