Getting Email Spam in POL

Has this happened to anyone? I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the new features for linkshells. Someone must've gotten a hold of SE's mailing list, because I just got 3 emails spammed in an hour period by japanese players.

I get tons of spam on my POL email as well, all in Japanese, advertising links to Japanese porn site. It's starting to get out of hand - before I only got one or two a week but now I'm getting about four or five emails a week.

I never get any POL mail, except when I bought the content IDs for my mules. That's really strange that you guys are getting so much.

I used to in the beginning of my FFXI career, but I changed my mail address, and it stopped.

Nope never got any spam. But since this is "basically" a regular pop3 e-mail acount it can have the same issues.

Probably just bot spam bots. E-mail everything@whatever.com and since you can get e-mail to your acount at charactername@servername.pol.com or whatever it is, its not hard to get mass mail.

Is it even possible to change email accounts? Or create another? I'm starting to think some enterprising japanese companies are either just guessing email accounts on POL or they somehow illegally obtained SE's mailing list (or just partial)

I'm also having problems. I used to never get spam, now I'm getting at least 5 emails every day that are in japanese. I've set up email filters, but that only helps partially.

I've been getting this spam for over a year. It's like 100 emails a week of it, all in Japanese. But I also check my POL email account with Mail on my Mac, so I just have my spam filter on that trained to delete them.
