Notes about this video
What is this video?
Aegis of Release is an FFXIesque story set in Vana'diel filmed and edited by myself.
Why create this video
I've wanted to create a video like this for a long time now and I have the means to carry that out now, also I have plans for several other videos, and this is also not the first FFXI video I've made.
What happens in this episode?
In the last episode we saw Kisats, a Ninja, wondering about the whereabouts of her sister, Celaeno. Kisats was then sent by two Jeuno guards to investigate some strange occurance in Xarcabard.
When Kisats and Mega arrived however a Black Mage was there to great them. This mage, Oren, told them they were being set up by Jeuno and warped them away from danger.
In this Episode Kisats and Oren talk more and Oren reveals he is able to help Kisats find her sister. They set out to meet someone who might know where Celaeno is but what is Oren's true motives? Who will they meet? Does he really know anything about Celaeno? And why is everyone so concerned about the amulet Kisats wears?
Watch and find out~
Will there be more?
Yes- there will be more, although it does take a lot of time and effort to create even a short 15 minute clip. This episode took over a month to create!
Although it gets easier with every video I make. There are 5 planned episodes, each one introducing new characters and advancing the plot more and more.
Any changes from the first episode?
Several changes, for the better! First of all a brand new name. I decided 'My Story' was too generic so I gave it something with more character.
Secondly: speech. Speech has been a problem for all FFXI videos in the past. Even notorious ones such as Samurai 7 and Lament of Torment. It can be hard to see the text and also who is speaking. With this episode comes better visuals, the characters now take up more room in the speech box, the name has been changed from dark blue to white, and the text stays on screen for longer (3 Seconds > 5 Seconds) so no one should have difficulty keeping up.
The resolution has improved (NTSC 0.9).
A HQ version will be uploaded onto my FileFront account so you can watch it in more detail, rather than just watch the crappy YouTube conversions.
The credits have changed to add a little more life to them.
A new intro has been made and will be the standard for future AoR releases.
Better editing. Although some minor editing mistakes have made their way into the final release it's a lot less than there was in episode 1. And hopefully in episode 3 there will be none!
That's all from me, I hope you enjoy it, and if you don't please post and tell me why. I'm always looking for ways to improve and you can help
