Re: My god I hate idiots

i gave up in dispair of dunes parties again this week... Soloing in la thein with my NPC buddy with my flag up got about a thousand exp in 30 maybe 40 mins. get an invite. in two minds but decide to accept... takes 30 mins at lest to get going. puller pulls IT goblin to a party of one level 13, level 12 tank (war (me)) and 4 level 10s. basically i end up brutally dying although i take it for the team and noone else dies. HP (konchat zone) and back ready for the next pull, no big loss. puller goes out stops dead before his pull then DC.
recruit another member, then another DC's...
looking for a sixth again, we get gobbo aggro. i take it again. recruit another, a PLD, but his gimpped in his level 7 gear, so i'm still tanking.
After a debate over whos pulling, the puller goes over pulls again for my third death.

so it's 1 hour later i'm 800 exp down. At this point i disband, and go back to solong in Konschat. Was i too patient with them? probably...

    On the HP issue.
Personally i belive people should set their HP near Valkrum while leveling there. It's desigened that way, thats why there are three HP in and around the area. At the end of the day, you can AFK on the ferry, and it shouldn't take you much more than 30 mins of semi attention to get back to whitegate. It speed things up no-end from waiting for raises, waiting for weakness to wear, getting organised again a death can mean 10mins downtime easily. thats five other peoples ten mins you have wasted...which is worse than spending a little time getting back home. To me it's worse than a bad sub or bad gear at that level to have someone afking for time or wasting peoples time. kills exp just as bad.

If you're fighting lizzies or goblins over by Konschtat (spelling?), and set your HP at the guard, half the time you can make it back to camp before the mob that killed you ends up dying (more than likely compensating for that 75 exp difference).

Seems to me it beats waiting several minutes for a raise, and then another several minutes for weakness just for that 75 exp.

      Just my two cents.
I did not give you all the full chat log. I did not simply say this after one comment from him, there was many more complaining and idiotic comments from him.

        Agreed.

Everybody should. If not for the sake of others then for your own sanity. The quest is really easy.

Or, if you set HP in Selbina, you can take ship to Mhaura, then take a ship to Aht Urgan.

And nor does everyone have a lv60 to use it with.

Personally, I find a whitegate or jeuno hp is fine, since you can get a teleport back out (if the PT is worth it. Typically, dunes deaths happen within the first few pulls)

Re: My god I hate idiots

This is just my personal opinion, but if you don't have at least level 60 (so you'd have access to the Oldumm ring) you don't really have any business setting your HP in Aht Urghan. Jeuno is one thing, but all the way across the world is another.

And yes, you can just grab the Warp Taru (provided he's there, and there isn't a besieged going on, or provided you can afford to pay the other Taru), but really, if you don't have at least one job at or near 60, there isn't any reason for you to be headquartered there anyway.

Yeah, because having all crafting guilds, AH, and Assault all near each other, and in a nice enviroment doesn't matter =/

Not if it's inconvenient for your exp parties, no. But as I said quite clearly, it's just my own opinion.

You can start exping in Aht Urhgan at L55.

when you make a thread like this you dont start out with half ass info, give it all...... so far you are the one sounding like the idiot.

Maybe it's because of the beds in my mog house (three simple beds, a mahagony bed, and a bronze bed... even though the Mog-Enhancement in my mog house is always gardening) but I seem to gain more exp than I lose with R3.

Well, that's why I said at or around 60. Regardless, if your highest level job is 30 or something, it's really kind of silly. But that's just my opinion.

I'll start setting my Homepoint in Whitegate the next time Windurst owns Qufim island. If the Warp Taru is gone, it's a long journey back, but I'll be able to Tele-Vahzl > OP warp to Windurst > OP warp to Qufim > Jeuno.

If Windy ever owns that damnable island again.

But at the moment, the Near East has very little of value to me - main job's 55 WHM, and I don't craft much yet.
