Yeah, that one gets me too. Unfortunately, anybody can get to level 75 and be a complete moron.

    "Heys!!! im beter then u becuz i also have a 75mnk! n00b!"

Unfortunately, SE made the learning curve for this game too easy for people. If it were the other way around, we would see a lot less 75's out there and people would actually have to work to obtain their right and title, instead of the mind-numbing grind and help from level 75 friends with every quest.

However, I bet this game was a lot different back in the NA/JP release. I have a lot of respect for the very first level 75 character, because he had to compete with many other people and basically fend for himself in order to receive his level. However, now, pretty much everything is given to you on a silver platter if you can find the help of much higher-level characters, with the exception of Zilart Missions and CoP of course.

Someone whose journal I read mentioned recently that people who can't seem to hit 75 are a complete mystery. While I guess I understand the sentiment on a general level (it's really not hard to get EXP. Just get into parties and do it.), I didn't appreciate the backhanded insult about how people who don't have 75 don't matter.

You know, because it takes five minutes to do.

        I agree.

Personally? If I had all the time in the world, I would be playing this game 24/7 and I would easily obtain 75 in a month or so. Unfortunately, I live by rules that govern my life: school, food, sleep, friends, etc. There's no possible way I can get to 75 in a matter of days. Moreover, if people condescend me for not being 75 and not seeing the true character that I am, they're not worth my time and they can go jump off a building.

Like I mentioned in another thread, level does not indicate knowledge, or personality. Lots of people who reach 75 in a couple of months have no life at all, and sadly, want a way of feeling good about themselves, so what do they do? Level like mad, reach 75, and patronize all of the lower levels below them.

I suppose if I'd stuck with my first character and hadn't left for other MMOs for a while, I'd have several 75s by now. I was well on my way the first time I left, and the subsequent 75s are considerably faster. But I didn't. I did other stuff. But that doesn't make me less of a person. That's where the "this is just a game" thing comes in. Trite? Perhaps. But no less true.

yeah that pretty much sums up my pet peeve.

That i'm expected to want to race through the game, and because i don't i really struggle to get things done at all. Trying to get a group for lower levels to take on a mission, or hunt a NM or whatever at a level that it's still a challenge is nearly impossible. People would much rather get their buddy with a 75 job to come and breeze through it instead. I'm approaching LB1 and would love to go hunting with a bunch of other 50's for the items, but just about everyone I'll approach about doing so, will require that a high level is coming to help us. Makes me sad, that t experience any real challenges i have go solo, or wait til i hit the top.

My pet peeve is close minded people in the sense they think only this pt setup will work for this mission. Since a few people did it this way then everyone takes the easy road and wont do it any other way. People dont like to be try new things, only just get through everything as fast as they can. I might have to level a whole new job just to finish some missions bc people wont take the jobs i have.

Most if not all of these have already been said and I agree with them all, my personal favourites:

People who over use the words “Noob”, “Newb”, “lol”, & “lolz”.

People who use Japanese terms even though they are not Japanese or even speaking to Japanese people, W… (I’m sure none English speakers can understand “lol” or “/laugh”)

Over use of the /emote function. /em is not impressed.

Kicking party members for being a “Noob/Gimp” without giving warning, reasons or advice. Also people leaving parties without notice, for whatever reason.

People who think jobs are “Gimped” because they’ve been told so by some elitist prick.

People who start parties without thinking ahead and then pass leader and ask you to find the rest while they go AFK.

People who only plan to party for less then an hour (not so much at low levels).

Lastly, people who force disconnecting to avoid a hard fight/bad party, its not too hard to tell everyone that something is wrong and if they disagree just leave, but tell them so.

In short I hate people, people are my pet peeve. Static parties are much more fun ^^

Think most of mine have been mentioned. Bummer.

~ Someones camping the same NM as you. They get claim first. Oh yeah, totally botting. Wait, that name... Its so a gilseller! I knew it! Camping my boyfriend Jujitsu this week has presented me with that. Just because I let your lazy ass kill one placeholder, does not mean I'm trying to set up a bot. Bah.

~ 'You need 19 summoners and 21 black mages to to that mission!' Oh be quiet. Try something new for once. =). Might like it.

~ 'I'm levelling ----- cause I don't get invites on ------.' ... Okay. Devote your free time playing a job you dislike. M'kay.

~ 'I'm a Mithrrrrrrrrrrrra and I purrrrrrrrrr.' Aiii. Stop. Please.

ZMs can easily be handed to to players on a silver platter in regards to sky access. Raising the level cap broke missions 1-13, if you ask me. ZM14-17 and CoPs are indeed challenging, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways for a less-capable player to limp their way through them. All they have to do is know the right people, who lack a moral compass like they do and had over their account information to have those people do the missions for them. I've caught people doing this red-handed.

Of course, my favorite defense for such an action is that it was for HNMLS members to "be on the same page."

Doing the missions, experiencing the challenges firsthand - that's kinda why I play the game to begin with, so I can't help but think of people who do these things as total noobs, no matter how many level 75 jobs they have.

Yeah, you're right. ZM1-8 there's a greater chance of people leeching the missions. I would think that there would be less of a chance on people leeching on the higher missions.....but like you said, there are people who are their friends and don't give a damn if they're leeching or not. (This makes me wonder what was the lowest level to complete Zilart was)

                            My pet peeve(s):

1.) You spend thirty minutes before begining a mission explaining to the people the importance of sticking together and not wandering off. They wander off, die, and blame the party/alliance.

3.) Having a plan and not using it.

4.) Blaming someone else for somthing you did.

5.) Being in a party with someone who deliberately tries to take hate away from the tank as if it were a game.

I could go on, but it's basically the lack of cooperation.
"Oh, you ca'n't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're Mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be", said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Welcome to Alice in FFXI =P

I have been playing this game for two years now, and between kids, work, my recent return to school, and other things that pop up, I have not yet had the time to get to 75. I'm stuck at 54 at the moment. I do spend a lot of time in-game doing other things besides leveling, but I don't see what the big deal is.

Eventually, like after my kids are in school or something, (or at least somewhat self-sufficient) I plan to get there, and maybe level a few other jobs. But for now, I'll take my sweet time because I don't always enjoy xping, and I don't always have the time for xping. Hey, when you have a two year old and an eight month old, joining a party is not really an option, I would be AFK every three fights.

Exactly. I think the thing that bugged me most about the statement is that people seem to forget that their in-game goals aren't necessarily the same as everyone else's. Some people have no intention of having several 75 jobs. And these same people still have a great time playing, no matter how inconceievable that is to the people who look down on them.
