Getting Alex….

This is always been an issue with millions of complaints. But you just to realize how bad it is till you actually experience it...at least i didnt.

I’ve started up salvage lately.
Maybe I’m doing the wrong areas?
Or maybe the wrong paths?
Or maybe I’m not doing it correctly at all?

Our first run we got 13 alex. We didn’t understand how gears worked with them warping and no purses on the chariot.
Our second run we got 90. 37 from gears and 53 from a purse. (Which sucks since the purse offers a random amount between 50-99…pretty much hit rock bottom on that purse)

On top of that…we split between 2-4 people lol. But that’s beside the point.

Are there better areas/paths were you can at least get a little more? I’ve always heard people bitch about lowering the requirement am I’m beginning to truly understand why. Even if you average 100 alex a run your looking 300 runs. Not to mention all the other stuff you need to do. And the fact that you MUST do assault in order to do salvage…

Anyway, I’m buying them where I can…but at the end of that day that’s gonna cost upwards of 400m+ to straight up buy...yowza

Any suggestions?

On the bright side, after you finish the annoying stuff.. you don't need to do all the 'little' things again (quests, limits, teleports, outposts, etc.). Till you figure out there is something even more annoying

Take it from me, Romy. Stop now. Just stop. I worked on all the requirements and I have nearly all of them finished up until Alex.

I farmed almost 1000 alex before I just threw my hands in the air and gave up. You're going the right thing. You are. It's just that bad. That 1000 pieces took me almost 2 months to collect... and I bought a few hundred of it too. If you really scale that out... that's:

1k for every 2 months.

2 months x 30 (for the 30k requirement) = 60 months

60 months / 12 = 5 years

Do you really want to farm Alex for 5 years? I didn't.

Ok guys…with all due respect, there’s a difference between us if that isn’t evident already. And I’m truly not trying to say that in a bad/mean way. But I think for certain things, I’m much more patient than others are willing to be. Again...i mean no disrespect. Because there are certain things i wont dare attempt (such as Lu Shangs). but cool weapons? how can i resist?

I have an ugly track record as it is doing a lot of my own work on my relics/Emps/Gears.
I mean how many people are crazy enough to solo Amber farm or solo kill NMs such as Glav, Itz, Bukhis, Ulsh, Alfard, Orth…etc.

Look… there’s a good chance in a month or two I’ll back out. but let’s at least see how it goes.
Plenty of things I can do along the way will help others as well as myself.

I can probably make upwards of 5m a week. Which averages out to 333 Alex a week IF the supply is there.
And I can begin to tell you how easy it is to make a few 100k ambering for an hour or two in Attowha (NPC/AHing certain gold chest items). Tack on maybe another 50 alex from a couple salvage runs a week

Lets assume 350 alex a week total on average...could be high but let this dreamer dream.

30,000 / 350 = 85
85 / 52 = 1.65 years.

And that’s from scratch. I have a health amount of gil on me and fairly high amount should I decide to liquidate my Marrow and Heavy Metal Plate supply. Selling certianly wouldnt cover it, but it would make a dent. And a dent's a dent.

It’s going to take me a few months anyway to get through Assaults.
I’ll gain Nyzul tokens by helping others progress to 100 or who need virgil weapons.
Einherjar…no comment…haven’t experienced that yet (/sigh)
Zeni can’t be hard since they double (maybe tripled?) the amount per picture.

Not to mention...there may be some sort of adjust to salvage in the future. Or maybe even an adjustment to the alex requirement.

They have made Emps a breeze to get.
They have made Relics a breeze to get.
I still don’t think an eventual adjustment is totally out of the question for mythics…

For the time being though, I’m assuming it won’t happen.

Who knows…maybe next year they’ll lower the requirement AND adjust the storage

I find it a bit baffling that you'd balk at something like Lu Shang's, but are totally up for chasing a Mythic. Then again, I also find it baffling that you can pull in 5 million gil in a week. That's mad crazy money.

If you're up for it, go forth and build yourself a Mythic. It's just that it is a hell of an undertaking.

I hated fishing. Hated it. thought I could do it but burnt out at 13 or so. Kudos for those who did most (or all) of it as well as an Ebisu. While they aren’t weapons, they are relics in my book.

Again…we’ll see how it goes. If it’s too much trouble to keep up with, I’ll sell all my alex and think of something else to do.

Anyway…I fully blame you cid! You put the idea in my head long ago and joking added gas to the fire.
I will however make sure to add you in my ‘thank you’ speech in a couple years from now
