hence why i said i'd also frown upon swift. i was just making the point that it isnt much more leg work to get swift if you already have access to CoP-dynamis.

Goading Belt, Moepapa stone, Twilight, Bullwhip or even Ninutaru would be an improvement over swift.

And before anyone comments on those belts…

Goarding Belt and Bullwhip belt are not very hard for the casual to get.
Moepapa stone is expensive…but purchaseable. 1-2m is easy to farm these days.
Ninataru, twilight…maybe more difficult
I’m personally working toward the Kaggen belt (phasma or whatever)

When I get back into it (and I've been feeling a hankering lately) I'm hitting you up for Dyna runs, Romy. Unless of course you think duo'n and splitting the goodies would slow you down in your goals.

I see your point but imo but I’m still not totally convinced. Sure it’s a cheap option but there’s a couple other belts that aren’t that hard to get.

For swift belt specifically (which I’d probably also frown upon), I don’t find CoP ‘leg work’ a viable excuse. Seeing as getting access to Sacrarium is only 2 missions after getting access to CoP Dynamis. Farming a Codex and having shitty luck on the NM….i guess I can understand that.

And as for newer players? You generally don’t find them soloing in Dyanmis-Valk.


That’s a fine excuse for the belt, but as far as NQ af3…If one has the time to hit Abyssea and get curor, dominion points and/or resistance credits for the emp armor…he certainly has time to find pearl gear on the AH.

"not that hard to get" often equates to "sizable time/people investment" in my experience. At least he had the sense to buy a dirt cheap AH option. I find that a 100% acceptable option for his waist slot. Should he work on other stuff? Of course, but at least he had the sense(or dumb luck) to pick the best budget belt from the AH to wear in the meantime. Seriously, do you want the age of TPing in Warwolf's Belts to make a comeback? Because I don't.

AF3 in that mix of rubbish screams new player to me. New player would see class specific armor with high level requirements and go "ok, that must be really good since it's specific to my job and my job alone". It's also been circulating through the grapevine for a while now that using BST in CoP dynamis is crazy good money, a tidbit of information that might lure a new player to do so even if they clearly have no idea what the hell they're doing.

But yeah, he's gimpy and should be wearing the stormtrooper outfit. I can't defend the rest of him, I'm just giving you a hard time over criticizing the belt because it's a perfectly fine interim piece that's easily accessible and should be used as such.

So tonight I decided I wanted to build a Light Gorget after a particularly embarrassing performance in Voidwatch spitting out 500-600 damage Drakesbanes. So off to Sea I go. The last time I was in Sea I got stomped by a surprise Yovra, so I figured that would probably be the biggest hurdle in my farming session.

Ha, that was a foolish notion. I roflstomped two of them and a third later by accident. The hard part is getting Hpemde organs to drop. I've had to throw out HQ Hpemde Organs to clear inventory space, but I've yet to even see one of the ones I need for my Light Gorget. The Random Number Generator is feeling stingy tonight.

I feel your pain…sorta.

95 Relic Bst with a pretty good Ruinator set (unless I’m doing it wrong) dropping them for about 500-700…(w/o that Atk tonic)
Acc food…pretty good amount of Str…an elemental gorget & belt.

/sigh…iunno maybe I’m doing it wrong.

I don’t mind going with people and splitting. All I as is that you know what you’re doing (Procs/TEs…etc). There’s one guy that badgers almost every single day about going. And I didn’t mind at first but it has basically become me babysitting him the whole run.

Sits at the start until *I* get all the TEs
WS mobs to low HPs before proc’d…making it harder to proc before they die.
Aggros anything/everything
Can’t stun with VF…it’s like he has 49 Dnc but not that job ability.
Tries to tank every mob when my pets can do a better job.
Honestly I think waits till he has 300 tp also before WSing most of the time.

If you can avoid most of those, your solid.

I don't even know what good WS numbers look like due to always having chat filters up, I just know that 500 damage Drakesbanes make me feel like I'm doing something horribly wrong. Those are the numbers I'm getting while eating Red Curry Buns, it's ridiculous.

I average 2500 ruinators or so on EP dyanmis mobs.
Only thing I can really compare it to as most stuff I do is in abyssea…and can’t ever trust those numbers because of Curor buffs/atmas.
Had one peak at 3990 ish the other day in dynamis. Was pretty cool.

I know I’ll never hit numbers as high as the other DDers, but I just keep telling myself they are in the Brd/Cor/Whm/DDx3 party. They are getting all the extreme buffs like songs and rolls. While I’m in the leftover 3rd party that they probably just needed a few more bodies for.

When I get slept, paralyzed or petrified…or amnesia’d. Ok status effects in general.

Did a couple carabosses last night with my bro Rook. On the last fight I figured i‘d fire off 2 Might Strikes (had a revitalizer) to get it over with quicker. already had 100+ TP also.

-Pop the first MS and get hit with Breakaga. And shortly after it wears off. Got 0 hits off
-Use the revitalizer, MS again and BAM, Some TP that puts me to sleep.
-Wake up with enough time to do 1 raging rush for no more damage than normal.

It’s like ‘why carabosse’. You’re not gonna beat us. You’re better off just spawning, handing us some gems and we’ll gladly let you depop.
