8am, Romyro doesn’t really want to work, so he calls off for half day. says he’ll be in at 1
8:01 – 8:47, Romyro runs around jeuno hoping for a good VW shout
8:48 – 9:00, Romyro decides to ‘start’ his Ukon, gets the base weapon and heads to Giddeus
9:01 – 12:47, Romyro kills Yagudo Mendicants in an effort to pop Hoo Mjuu the Torrent
12:48 – 1:00, Romyro goes to work
1:01 – now, Romyro is crying about not popping the NM, thus wasting his morning and decides to rant about it on DiV.

I had no competitor or group there that wanted to team up.

How much are you willing to bet that someone popped in shortly after I left and will be done with the trial by the time I get home.

Kinda surprising that he didn't pop in that time. It's been awhile since I've camped him, but I always remember him popping once every hour or a bit more.

So when I got home (~5 hours later), it turns out the NM popped during the next round.
I know this because when I looked at the chat window, I saw

I've never consciously camped him, but I think over my years I've killed him about 10 times. He never dropped it.

In my old LS (way before TH3 and lvl cap raises) we had many people attempting to camp it and I don't recall anyone ever getting it w/o a form of TH; and, even then I remember full time THFs complaining about this item's droprate being absolutely horrible.

A LS mate and I decided to start working on ukon together, so we went out there. A couple hours in, we got one kill. A couple hours later, he hadn't popped again, so my friend goes AFK to sleep. Before he pops again, SE shuts down the servers 'cause of tsunami-related issues.

I think FFXI burn out is imminent. The game is starting to feel like work rather than a game.

I had more fun last night just dicking around in Fallen Earth with my friend than I've had in the past month of FFXI, and we couldn't even get through the tutorial because we're either extremely inept or the thing is bugged. When spending 45 minutes stuck in a tutorial level with a friend is more enjoyable than the core of the game you're paying for, it's probably time to take a break. Unless something changes I'll probably be powering down my account at the end of the month.

But sitting in Jueno for 3 hours shouting for a Tele-Mea is ridiculous. I even went up to 15k for the reward.

People complaining about not getting teleports (or retraces/recalls/warps/etc).

So you've been shouting for awhile? Maybe you should have spent less time shouting and more time getting there by yourself. Shouting for 3 hours? Could have walked there and back a few times already.

Guess what? I have WHM leveled, and I didn't do it so that I teleport people. Can I do it if I choose to do so? You bet, but don't get pissy because I won't give you a tele when your 15k isn't worth it to me (or any other WHM or /WHM in the zone, apparently).

Spamming your shout won't help. Neither will insulting the very people who you rely on for said services (things such as 'WTF are all the lazy WHMs') after you've been sitting in town shouting for dozens of minutes (hours?!).

You have options: teleport rings, OP warps, abyssea warps, warp/retrace scrolls, chocobos...
