I woke up to a broken pearl for my social LS this weekend. No explanation, no warning, no prior confrontation, just a broken pearl. I assume the leader just broke the shell since it was becoming a bit empty most nights, but at this point I no longer care for the reason.

Finding a good social LS is not easy.

It seriously is. I have discovered, even in my LS where I like most everyone, that there are still some people who drag the damned thing down, or at least do in my mind.

I hear ya. I switch servers and I find that I get along with everyone here... and it's all "yay!". Then one day while everyone is gearing for an event... I see someone write something that begs for a "so does your mom" to be interjected.... so I obliged. From then on... it's as if I'm the red-headed stepchild who can do no right. I remember when people used to have a sense of humor...

You should remember that day, Murph... we were camping Ungur at the time.

When it isn't an individual being a jerk it's the whole linkshell being silent and distant. Or falling apart.

I'm really just burned out on trying to find one at that's a good fit for me.

I remember it distinctly, Yyg. That anyone would take such a comment seriously boggles the mind. There are a few people in the LS who have become distant of late, and I'm not sure what I did to cause it. If anything. People can have so many different motivations. But it's still confusing.

I'm glad I've mainly found LS's with dirty senses of humor. I was given another LS's pearl when I first was playing from a guy in NoIdea (my original social). He was taking me from Sandy to Jeuno for my first time... So he was intro'n me to the new LS and he said one random thing and they came down on him hardcore. Hell, I don't even think they were allowed to use the term 'hardcore'. It was some religious-bent LS w/ Angel somewhere in the name. I dropped that pearl soon after and mained with NoIdea til they fell apart. I've been lucky enough to find endgame/social LS's with people fucked up like me, lol.

Official Forums make my head hurt. They also give me the urge to level Scholar to put together a Rune Chopper build. These two things are likely related.

Fine. Then tell me what I should be beating on. I went for spiders, and that group I was WHM for later went for tigers (paralyze spam), which doesn't seem like a good solo mob.

WTF? Do you have the boards set to e-mail you new messages in this thread when posted or what? Look six messages up from what you posted and check what I edited it to twenty minutes later, three days before your reply.

If you use those before your puppet casts, it won’t cast silena/blinda/paralyna.

You talk as though I was given /DNC in the mail three years ago. I only recently leveled it and am still learning it. Also, when I solo I like to take it easy, serious is for real life shit or at least when other people are depending on you to do your part.

And a minor peeve here: fellowship NPC's healing is on such a hair trigger (unlike an automaton) that I barely get to the point where it's worth waltzing and here comes another Cure III, and before you know it the NPC is out of MP. I don't want to have to watch my stats like a hawk when I'm just out skilling up or leveling the NPC, and I'm not using Third Party Enhancements and don't plan to. SE, can't you at least make book Refresh apply to the NPC?

And you’re too cheap to get RR earrings? You’re farming gold boxes for f$%^ sake.

My inventory is always too near full and I basically don't care enough about getting the feet anymore, and yes I'm cheap, ok? I want the higher craft skills to make the vivified mythril for RR earrings more than those stupid feet. I'd rather level other jobs right now than get on the gear upgrade rat race. And I don't need to farm gold boxes for their own sake, because I have more than enough gil these days, since I hardly spend it and have over 170K IS which would sell for a couple of million gil in imperial coins.

If you don’t want to go prepared to something that’s your business. But don’t sit there and try to tell me its bad idea and insult me when I do it on a daily basis successfully.

And don't go out of the way to be insulted three days later by the first draft of something that I edited within twenty minutes, GMAFB.

That happened to me once, it's unsettling. I've been lucky with my linkshells since then. Even if I change, it's still basically the same people with me and we just bounce together from shell to shell.

This just in: Rune Chopper Scholar builds are not allowed on the Official Forums. You can't mention Scholars with great axes. It's taboo.

Ladybugs are really easy especially at night. Crawlers are easy as ever, though occasionally taken, and bunnies right next door aren't too bad.

Caveat: Rabbits don't amber, so you'll have to bulid light on something else, but if you stick to rabbits you won't have to worry about screwing up your amber.
