Used to annoy me no end as well especially when you have people asking for help on an NM without doing a scrap of research. Lost count of the number of times I've helped idiots who lacked pop items or keys or just simply failed to do prequests.

On the other hand, these people are funny when want in to the group to help and after you have everything you need they start asking why they didn't get credit or ask for the next pop without having realized they needed a pop set themselves.

Goddamn /party macros.

I mainly only use /p this for:

~~ Pulling ... I want my party to know that I've pulled, what I've pulled, and to get their dumbasses back to the task at hand instead of watching tv or playing their f'n PSP or some sh!t.

~~ TP ... mostly for latent breaking.

~~ Solo skillchains ... in the hope someone won't interrupt the skillchain that I'm gonna try and do on my DNC or BLU.

~~ Fan/Saber dance ... I want my party to know my limitations. I'm so tired of people who don't understand that they don't get sambas from me when I'm tanking something (Fan). Or people who want me to zerg then don't understand why I'm not healing their ass (Saber). These are long timers so it's not like they are spammed.

Those are the only times I can think of that I use /p.

Pet peeve... people who don't read/listen to my /p macros so they nag me to heal them when I can't, or nag me to use a samba when I can't, or fuck up my skill chain w/ their {Too weak} WS, or don't voke the mob off me after pulling cuz they are too busy 'fapping' while watching a scene from Basic Instinct.

I went whm/nin and used 2 Ash clubs to skill, whichi think is around 1 dmg. worked just fine

@Neverslip: Don't get me wrong, there are things that warrant the use of /party macros and I have no problem with them. It's just that the people who use them responsibly are horribly outnumbered by the people who are a product of the process Elwynn described.

I'm just tired of putting up with the stupidity of these people in every party I go to, so now I just chew people out for being retarded until they fix their macros. I don't like being the asshole, but being nice gets me nowhere with these people.

I know, I know, it's super easy or whatever, but I'm frustrated by my lack of understanding of spellcast. I'll figure it out eventually.

For the time being, I'm using Windower macros. That's still considerably better than the default.

I may have it figured out somewhat. I am noticing that it is going to free me up to buy a shit ton more gear, since I can actually swap all of it in for various situational uses.

Yeah, it opens a lot of doors for situational gear.

It really depends on how far down the rabbit hole you go. Spellcast can simply be a way to conveniently swap back to idle gear after everything, or you can map out a labyrinth of rules to get all sorts of functionality you never even considered trying before.

$45 bill from Square-Enix for FFXI. I have 2 characters total and they seem to think there is nothing wrong on their end.

I thought that to, but I had a look and I resubbed them before the month before and that bill was higher.
