I dunno, that "no" in there sounds a bit feminine.

の used as an independent ending is somewhat feminine; although I'll be completely honest and say I use it all the time (when asking questions) and nobody really gives me much shit for it unless I'm being over the top. And people do give me shit when I'm being feminine for the sake of lulz, since they generally agree that I grasp stuff like that. Keep in mind that the gap between male and female speech is closing nowadays-- there are girly things that men don't question, and I've heard plenty of girls using ぞ・ぜ unironically (or at least, as unironically as anyone uses them). While we're on the subjects, heard lots of elementary school boys calling themselves 俺. I always go with ボク, and pretty sure everyone who's ever 'corrected' me on this or questioned it at all was a foreigner. ボク suits me more.

のか is fine. I guess if you really wanted to turn it up to maximum badass, you could go with できないんだぜ！, but that sounds much less like a query and more like a rhetorical question that you're not serious, to me at least.

Or just cut to the chase and go "{Raise}seyo, <jp-dick>"

GMs will not jail someone for checking you. They'll tell you to use the freaking filter. The rest of your post makes zero sense to me.

I love checking people. I don't do it maliciously but there's some people out there with gear I've not ever seen. Good example was dude on Hades/Cerb named Lukeskywalker. Had idk how many jobs and the best of the best gear (@75) for each. I'd learn what I might want from that guy. If I check you twice that means I wanted to get another look or that you changed gear in the middle of me looking sh!t up on wiki. I've never used it as a form of harassment either. I think the "/em examine" is far more annoying. If someone /checks me I'm really cool with it. Hell, I wear a Gobbie Coif cuz (fuck, I'm an actor) I like the attention and it typically makes people look at my bazaar and buy things, lol.

Some guy did a shout for Minikin Monstrosity atma. Almost didn't take me because I'm BLU, and yellow proc is rarely Blue Magic, but he did, and it turns out the proc WAS blue magic. So, woo! Then he killed before we could get Red Proc, and then told us all we couldn't lot anything.

In a way, it's always been kind of a sad reality in this game. I feel like, in an MMORPG, one of the pleasures of it should be about meeting people. And the best way to meet people is via pickup groups. I can, unfortunately, say I pretty much stick to my circle whenever I log on. Mainly, my linkshell and sometimes I feel like I'm losing out by not putting myself out there more.

But pickup groups tend to lean on the side of being awful. One of our members joined a pickup Raja group that ended up wiping and zombying for half an hour. Some of us came in to help them and killed it in 10 minutes. Our only condition of helping them? They have to stand back and do nothing. But even that was too difficult for some of them to follow.

I know that joining a shout is a crapshoot. But I missed it when the LS did a run a few weekends ago, and I really wanted the atma. Red Proc is super easy to get, so it seemed pretty risk free. Apparently not! Then again, I didn't lose anything but time. I just didn't gain anything either.
