Annoyance#1: Nobody makes low level gear anymore, not even for crafting skill ups.

Why is this annoying? I have to heal tanks in fucking JUNGLES parties still in starter RSE on my Red Mage...

I did solo my RDM from 1-25 in a single day though. Loving the new XP gains. The awesome thing is is that you can make soloing as easy or hard as you want it now due to the huge variety of solo XP mobs it opened up.

Annoyance #2: Phalanx, that thing used to cost 3k when I played, now it's up to 700k.

Why is this annoying? YU NO COST 3K NO MORE?

So far I've been sticking to nuking the shit out of worms while soloing 25+, occasionally going out to kill something else if I want a challenge.

Still, 20 levels to go before hopping back on my WHM, I won't be worrying about getting that subjob up for long anyway.

I know people love to play mages and all, but a mage is like, one of the last jobs I'd consider for a first job if I were just returning to FFXI. The spell costs are often ridiculous.

My old character ended up on Valefor so I just reactivated her and installed Plastic Surgeon on windower for when I get bored of staring at a Hume all the time. I do like to fish as a Mithra.

Ok so... peeve. I log on this morning with the intention to do a few things:

1.) Get an Ark Pentasphere (since this morning was a full moon)
2.) Turn in my Katana trial and start killing Colibri for the second-to-last trial for my 2nd evasion katana.
3.) Pick up my Mog Bonanza Marbles on Yygdrasil and my mule
4.) Get My Destrier Beret
5.) Farm KIs for the Mega-Boss-A-Palooza on Saturday

What happened? I'll tell you what happened:

1.) Got to Ro'Maeve and experienced double-thunder weather for the entire duration of 00:00 - 03:00... making the whole trip useless.
2.) Turned in my trial and headed to Wajoam Woodlands only to be outcamped by an alliance who wouldn't include me... despite (by my count) having only 14 people in the group.
3.) Forgot to get Marbles
4.) Got it... happy.
5.) Teamed up with Achil to go after some KI. This is where the peeve happened:

We got to Grauberg and made it to the NM that you need to kill to get the KI for the zone boss. It's one of those snail NMs... so when it goes into its shell... you get hit with plague/Poison/Gravity while it regens about 1%/tic. I claimed him and wore him down to 50% over the duration of about 45 minutes of fighting. After Achil arrived... we got it down to about 30% and then I noticed it... a full team of 6 vultures hovering over us watching us have a hard time with it.

What would have been nice? Helping... teaming up... killing it and allowing Achil and I to move on. What happened? The party stood on top of us and waited... pulling clippers near me to aggro to sound and add to my stress. they nearly MPKd us 4 times. Achil died about 5 times and I died about 3 times. Thankfully we held onto the claim... procd red and blue and kept fighting. After achil died 1 more time and didnt have RR up... I was left to solo. Since I was weakened... the NM regened more than I could handle and it made it back up to 80% before Achil could get back.

Whats the problem with this? Well... the repop on the freaking NM is 10 minutes. If the goddamn party camping on us had just helped us kill it, we could have left and they could have ahd the next one... in 10 minutes. Instead, they figured on waiting until we died to take it. This went on for 45 minutes until finally gave up... held the NM and asked them for help AGAIN.

The NIN leader refused and I continued to tell them I'd be leaving once it was dead. After another 10 minutes of negotiations... they agreed to help. I claimed again, got the red proc and they bashed it down.

This would have eben awsome... if not for the fact that the WHM refused to heal me and I died to it at 1%. While I was dead, they killed it and I lost out on the KI.

Fuck people. Fuck people so fucking much.

After that was over... I only had time to try one other NM... I went for the Wamoracampa NM in Attowah for that zone boss KI. I died to a Firaga4 and logged out.

6 people made my list today. 6 people.

Anything /rdm for that matte no?

I go Bst/Rdm some times for Primal Rending. I can get MAB II on both /Rdm and /blm but could actually cure myself with /rdm.

Now that I think of it…maybe Nin/Rdm would be good for AE spamming
