EDIT: Also, my peeve was being told to just throw a couple of 90s at everything. Not actually having help with things.

Basically with the way level differences are calculated, for a lot of pre-abyssea content unless you're also a bit over 75, one or two 90's helping is pretty much equivalent to them doing it. Well, unless its a 90 not damage dealing job.

Shamshir isn't really bad-looking at all.

There are usually better Swords, however.

I finally get Rank 10 in Bastok after almost 2 years in game. Most people in my shell gave a nice round of congrats. One person, however, answers by telling me that Rank 10 doesn't mean what it used to. That it's only good for something-or-other.

Sometimes it's just better to not say anything at all, because that really brought me down.

Well, congratulations. I think it's a pretty decent accomplishment. Completing any storyline is a accomplishment and should be to anyone. Given the fact that you did it w/ Lastok (a horribly dreary and mundane place w/ an annoying soundtrack, imHo) I think that it's even more of an accomplishment to having stuck w/ it, lol. I've done the other two and maybe I'll get around to Lastok eventually. So my hat is off to ya. That person who made you feel like it's a lesser accomplishment was an asshat for saying such.

Key-item spawned Notorious monster claim system.

Yesterday some guy named Topito and some other insect in Valefor stole our Rani pop when it became unclaimed for a little while. Now, we screwed up not brewing it from the get go, but there was no reason for them to be able to steal a mob we were still fighting. Specially considering the trigger conditions for it (non transferable key items, spawn in red already and all that.)

So while they are obviously guilty of stealing it and being scumbags it is SE's claim rules that allowed them to do so in the first place.

Saddest part is I don't really care about losing the win or items, if we had failed and the mob had vanished I'd be farming KI again by now. But having all our effort stolen like that just really, really pisses me off and takes all the fun away from playing.

I've already sent a GM call and some other stuff about it, but depending on the response I get (which will probably be something I wont like) I may not be willing to keep paying SE a monthly fee anymore.

That's too bad, Ray. I'm pretty proud that the LS I'm in has invited the people that wiped after their NM became 'steal-able several times'. Yeah we've wiped to NMs and people have taken them but why do that when you know how sh!tty it feels? Just plain asshattery, imo.

If he's enough of a dick to steal the NM, he'll assume you guys are bad enough to ninja his drops.

The lesson to take away from this is that people are scum.

Well, people being scumbags is sort of a a given, but the point is the NM should've disappeared instead of going unclaimed if the system determined we failed. Which considering how many of our alliance were still alive at the time it was stolen I seriously doubt it could be considered a failure at that particular time. Plus Yggy was coming back with another brew.

There is absolutely no reason for a pop NM like that to be killable by anyone outside the alliance that spawned it. SE needs to fix that already.
