Re: What's your pet peeve in FFXI?
If you didn't know, each consecutive Skillchain does more damage than the last. A single Lv2 SC does 60% of the WS's damage, but the second in a row does 75% and each successive one does 25% more, so constant Lv2 SC would overtake the power of getting a 100% Light every 2 WS very quickly. This is mostly only relevant to SAMs with Meikyo Shisui but most of them are too lazy to give a fuck and just do 2 WS + Light/Dark repeatedly. 2 SAMs joining their Meikyo Shisui would be utter rape. It's one of my oldest peeves because it really is a hell of a lot stronger but it takes a lot of work to convince people about it.
This is the first time I've seen a situation where you can skillchain infinitely against a mob with sufficiently high HP that it would help and sufficiently low offense that you'd stick around, so to see the guy spamming the same WS over and over again for an average of 50% skillchain damage makes me hurt
And yes Chant du Cygne is lulz. It's a good thing I quit before it came out because the few times I used Teamspeak, my LS started calling me Zorro to tease me for my latin accent. The best part? One of the dudes that was teasing me was Australian. It was all in good fun of course.
