Re: What's your pet peeve in FFXI?
Wireframe lasts until you change it to another setting, since it's not a plugin but a setting within Windower itself that makes the game display altered (in this case, by not applying any of the skins, [pretty things]). Since it's simply an application of a skin, it's also very possible to alternate between one and the other in a very short time frame. That's also why it's so ugly -- that's literally the 'base code' of the graphics being sent to your game; curved corners require more surface details (more angles) and require more lines to differentiate between each surface. But since it's being hidden by the skin, it doesn't matter how ugly it is as long as it gets the job done (which I also refer to as the programmers bane).
Honestly, there's very little wireframe is good for -- the switches in Castle O are a good example. In Nyzle, the only use is seeing where the mobs are, and frankly there are better options for that (ApRadar, Mappy on the Windower forum, or a similar program). With Nyzle, those programs are FAR better, since they also show where the walls are and how you can get to where the mobs are, as opposed to wireframe that only shows there is a wall.
