I used it without any issues, but then again I also never gave GMs to look me up. What Mhurron said makes sense though, I don't see how your client would have access to server files or how GMs would have access to files on your own PC.

Oh it could be done. The client has read/write access to the log files so they could have a little 'request logs from client Mhurron is currently logged into' but that would require you to be logged in and would therefore preclude any actual analysis of the logs.

Also baring it being mentioned in the user agreement, and it isn't, it would be illegal as hell for SE or its contracted support staff to read any file on your system without explicit permission.

I avoided using Windower for years when I played but once I bit the bullet and installed it I could never go back. The gearswap macros alone are invaluable to any job's performance, I couldn't have played Cor and Dnc anywhere near as effectively without Windower. Also, Drawdistance is fucking awesome and FFXIStyle really makes your UI and character icons look a hundred times better. Having differently coloured icons for each phantom roll was a massive help when keeping buffs on people in events.

Spellcast looks like it could be both a lot of fun and a lot of work. Especially if I want to be really picky about getting the most out of a convert set. Although I was sad to see there was no rule for isMoving so you could always have some go-faster pants on while moving. It looks like it would be very easy to trap yourself and get locked into certain gearsets if you don't write up the XML properly. I am excited and afraid now.

You put your +movement speed items on in your idle set, which your spellcast will always switch back to when you finish casting. I personally couldn't stand it if I were resting and then stood up, I'd be in my ugly resting gear. Spellcast had it automatically switch me to my resting set when I went into resting, and when I stood up went right back to my idle set. And I always idled in gaiters/cuisses.

So there's no specific way to put your movement speed gear on but since I always wanted to run faster when I was not casting anyway, putting my gaiters or my cuisses in my idle set was the way to do that.

That. SpellCast knows when you're resting, engaged or using an ability. The rest of the time you have a very short list of concerns: auto-regen/refresh, -damage taken, max hp/mp and movement speed.

The problem Aks, is that there's now a shiny Refresh subligar to compete with Go-Faster Pants for the leg slot in an idle set. So if I'm standing around picking my nose I'd want the refresh, but if I'm running for my life I want to go faster. Thank God I don't have either piece of gear so I don't have to deal with that conundrum yet.

For which it's possible to have SpellCast check what zone you're in and equip a town gear set, if you really want to get into it.

I know, lol. I used pretty much everything Spellcast had to offer. Mid-cast swaps, town gear sets, weather/day change sets.

Cid, if you have Refresh (II?) up all the time plus chapeau that's probably fine. RDM is pretty easy as far as MP refresh goes, which is why they don't have an Auto Refresh trait. I had cuisses + Dalmatica and Duelist's chapeau and I rarely had MP issues unless I was Chainspell Nuking. Even on long kited fights you'll be Converting at regular intervals and really shouldn't have any major MP issues.

Besides, you can have your Spellcast override certain things when your HP or MP is below a certain percentage. This is how you can get your latents to work with things like Sorcrerer's Ring. I know some people that had pieces that would come on instead of idle pieces when their MP dropped below a certain percentage. I didn't really have any extra refresh gear to swap in above what I already had, but you can do that. (My idle set on RDM consisted of Duelist's Chap and Dalmatica already, so I had plenty of MP refresh when I wasn't casting.)

And really, in that way, you can basically just say, "Hey, spellcast, when I'm idle (not casting, whether running or not) and my MP is below 50%, put my subligar on and gimme some Refresh." Then when your MP recovers to the point where you don't need that extra tick, Spellcast will realize that and default back to your running pants.

                        It's really an awesome tool.

How did you work in PDT sets? I figure there's probably a good metric for automating but I'm thinking that manually swapping into it to take a hit is probably good enough for most situations.

Oh totally, and I'm looking forward to using it, but it's definitely gonna take me some time to figure out how to set it up just right.

I wasn't a huge mega kiter so I don't know, but if you're running low on shadows /nin or you know your Stoneskin is gonna break and want some extra defense you can just macro that. I'm not sure there's a specific "when being hit" command as much as it's "when below n% hp." Then again, I could be wrong, as like I said, I wasn't really a big time kiter so I never really looked into MDT or PDT sets for most of what I did and how I could work those into my sets when I was low on HP.

It can't preemptively equip pdt gear when you get hit. I just swapped in all PDT in my idle set, at a lower priority than running speed and auto refresh.
