Everything from 30 on to 75, from what I've heard. I quit well before the level cap came out, so I don't know how it works, but apparently there are very few regular xp parties going on, and because of this, crafters no longer make low to mid level gear to sell on the AH. If you can leech from 30 to 75 why wear anything at all? Just hang out in Aybssea naked. Which is apparently what a lot of people do.

So now that people spend most of their levels in Abyssea and have no actual need for gear, it's not made. So people who actually do want/need that gear because they'd prefer not to level in Abyssea can't find it. And I'm fairly sure people don't want to level in their level 1 RSE at Lesser Colibri.

So Abyssea has really discouraged low level partying in more ways than just the fact that it's much faster, but also by the sheer fact that you can't really gear up and party outside if you want to.

I guess at least after 52 you can start wearing your AF ... though in most cases, it's more cosmetic than useful.

For expmaple , there weren’t many katanas I could choose from when I jumped on my 41 Nin a couple weeks ago for a Qufim solo. Certainly VERY few around my level.

Why would their be any low level gear? Too many leech from 30 to 90 so why would anyone spend their time and gil making gear that will not sell?

I think even people who try to spam crafting end up NPCing most if not all of the shit they make.

I hadn't even considered the ramifications of what this did to the gear market for those level ranges. Now my head hurts...

They should. I remember after they fixed Salvage so you couldn't dupe anymore, a good portion of the BG-base said, "They're not going to ban anyone. I got all the gear I could while I could and I'm going to be absolutely 100% safe from any action, and better geared than you. You're just jealous." And then the bans came.

And so did the QQs.

SE has shown that they do have balls ... they banned all those people - even though some of them I don't think actually deserved it and some people got off free - so I don't see why they're scared to show their balls again this time.

I would laugh so fucking hard if SE would raise the level to enter Abyssea. Just like I laughed in the face of all those people who said that SE would not ban them for duping salvage items.

SE is still putting their ducks behind FFXIV. FFXI only gets things to placate the high level established players until they finally figure out the FFXIV is the future.

well, there probalby backed in a corner now. anymore major bans or update-fuck-ups will drop the player base even more.

It really has been a confusing process for me. I'm so used to planning out my gear. But now, I have to say "Ok, well,, that, that, that, that, and that, aren't available. That I guess I could camp? But I have to get high enough to camp it. So...what can I buy in order to get there?"

Starting from scratch has been ok, save for the gear issues, though.

FFXI only gets things to placate the high level established players until they finally figure out the FFXIV is the future.

Remind me to sit down with you and figure out what things of mine I can let you borrow. I have a bunch of stuff hoarded because of what the AH looks like. I really dont want to put things back up... just in case I ever actually NEED them.
