So, I am amused by the fact (I'm not sure I'd call it a "peeve" but whatev) that despite the fact that I've purchased and downloaded the most recent purchase-able version of FFXI, I still have 8 hours up updating to look forward to. And I use "look forward to" really, really loosely.

Not necessarily a peeve with FFXI per se, but with Xbox in general.

I got another red ring of death (my third in eight months). I've only been back in game for two weeks since the last one and it hit. Support said it is because of overheating, but then had no suggestions to help. Does anyone on here have any helpful hints?

Another two or three week break, my wife is loving it...

In before "Buy a Playstation 3".

Buy a newer off the shelf 360 (check manufacture date to be sure it's pretty new) ... if you can get one of the newer black ones maybe they are best bet.

M$ will keep sending you back refurbished yet old hardware that will still RRoD. After my last RRoD I bought a new Arcade model and haven't had a scare since. Sure I have a console I should send back to M$ still sitting in my closet... but w/e.

Yeah, I know they are sending refurbished ones back. With two small kids though, priority isn't on a whole new system.

My pet peeve right now: lack of demand for PLD. I have other jobs, which is good, because PLD is less wanted now than DRG or PUP ever was.

Basically, the problem is the same problem it was the last time PLD was unwanted, and the time before that: mobs are too weak. So what's the point in a specialist in soaking up their attacks without dying when a freaking monk can do that as long as you have cure V and a 10/tick refresh?

Being party leader leading to 3 AM bedtimes because you couldn't weasel your way out at 2 AM when you felt exhaustion setting in. I really hate having to be the responsible one.

Oh, and half-assing it on NIN when try to tank in the jungle totally does not work, just as I suspected. Gonna have to burn more gil to finish this gorramn subjob.

I post this as a warning of decency... to anyone out there thinking of posting anything along the lines of:

"My peeve is that the servers are down for a week".

Remember that the only reason they are down is so that power can be supplied to those people in Japan who are without it. SE is doing the right thing and we should support their decision. Take this time to re-evaluate your priorities... and remember... the RMTs have it WAYYYYY worse than you.

I've already had to delete people from facebook and other things due to the completely retarded comments they're making on the entire situation. I looked at the official forums as well, and I think it was a mistake even making them. It's sad how low people stoop when they're over the internet.
