Slightly off-topic: Has anyone noticed the spam tells have all but stopped? I've left my bazaar mule on the last two weeks without chatmon (which will filter out EVERY incoming tell) and I think I've gotten one tell.

I never noticed until now. I wonder if SE has finally fixed the RMT issue...

Maybe your name isn't easy to find on search (wait, is there even a /sea function in XIV?) Like in XI, I got RMT tells very often while other people I know got none at all or very rarely.

Apparently Raydeus ranks fairly high on the R names search list.

If not... They might have a third party program that allows them to do a /sea in FFXIV for names.

Kind of peeved that playing this free MMO I've been immersing myself in is tempting me to start over in XI.

But then I think about going through getting rank 10 in all nations again, finishing G1-G5 again, doing CoP again, doing ToAU again, getting myself geared again (no small feat, I don't settle for "acceptable" gear), getting Dynamis clears and gear again, starting Salvage again, working on Assault points again, climbing Nyzul again ... and then doing all the new crap with the level cap just to catch myself up to everyone else?

Yeah, I uh ... I don't fucking think so.

So I guess my peeve is being tempted (damn game, get your fucking hooks out of me already) and knowing that it's just too much damn work to get back to where I want to go. I wouldn't rejoin my old ls (some were mad when I quit, fuck all that drama) so I wouldn't really have any friends to help me out with this stuff and PL me or whatnot, so really, the prospect of doing all of that stuff in either pick-ups or solo is daunting.

Pretty much the reason why I'm still on the fence about getting back into FFXI. I do actually have my character I would be more tempted to start over as I would be rejoining the game after a year's absence and still at WHM75 with Lv37 subjobs so even with a head start in terms of levels, I would still have a daunting amount of ground work before starting off again (hence why starting from scratch and using my main as a bank alt is looking pretty attractive). The fact that everything on FFXIV can be done without having to wait until stupid o'clock in the morning to get a group is why I am drawn more to that than XI at this moment in time.

I would also have to get a new LS since I have no idea what happened to my old one and if it's even still running, though that being said I wouldn't be opposed to a server change if it would be made worth my while. Though I doubt many LS's would put up with a new member constantly bugging for help for everything .

Fighting VT mobs for an hour and only getting 1.5 sword skill.

Also Enhancing spells caps, what's the point on leveling magic anymore if there's really nothing beyond the 300 mark?

Also, bump for new peeve: Chocobo Hot and Cold. Pretty much my main activity while I wait for funds to come in from Gardening (to pay for my equipment to level WHM).

My ISP D/C'd me briefly at midnight just as I was getting close.

From what I've seen only Bar-element spells were, haven't noticed anything else.

So I currently get 6 (yes six! \(^-^)/ ) more elemental resistance from them, although Bar-status spells do work a bit better now.

I've heard they've upped the cap on Stoneskin as well.

Just about everything else that was capped previously should be uncapped now, though.

Stoneskin? No way. Either it's still capped at 350 or the improvement is another glorious 6 points.

And Phalanx was definitely not uncapped, unless that Cactuar I tested it on was haxxoring the fight.


Edit > Hmmm... maybe I could try charming a Cactuar and getting TP so it would use 1000 needles while my is at Stoneskin is at 100% and see how that goes.
