You have a better imagination than I do. I just assume (+1) everyone online is a guy unless I have very solid evidence of the contrary.

Really it's just safer to assume everyone is a guy until told otherwise. I wish more people would follow that rule of thumb. Playing on a female character has led to more than a few odd social scenarios, although oddly enough I've yet to have anyone actually try to hit on me.

No. You aren't. There is only one woman who plays FFXI, and she doesn't count because she's post-menopausal and batshit crazy, so she's basically male anyway.

Apparently they opened up the stupid 14 day no-card trial again. Not that I'd know where to look, but the RMTs have it bookmarked.

I hate how I have to type in the fucking name to make a GM report. Usually they're pretty fast, but last night it took like 15 minutes for my "RMT tell from Syladasdfasdas" report to get the acknowledgement that I never read. Fuck all y'all RMTs. (And now I hear there were gilsellers in FFXIV beta? WTF people?)

My recently renewed peeve is having Campaign medals expire. We now have these newer areas with bountiful exp -- ya think some of us *might* be spending most of our time there (where we can get skillups, incidentally) rather than bouncing from campaign battle to campaign battle?! Sheesh!

If nothing else, how about letting people get skillups in campaign battles?

I'm with ya on this one. I think the losing your medal aspect was a poor choice indeed. I'm proly about ready to lose another medal cuz well... campaign kinda sux anyway these days. Can't count on battles happening in a timely fashion and the battlegrounds are vacant when you get there so you just get ganged by tons of mobs right after you've gotten your tags and are attempting to start a union or getting RR items. Really don't like that the medals are temporary items basically.

As long as you stop doing campaign when you already have done enough XP to keep your medal, you won't lose it when you decide to play again. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work.

My biggest annoyance about unions hasn't changed. Even if you went to a campaign with only 5 people, that should be enough to at least get some decent bazaar items in the lot pool. Yet people intentionally join their own single person unions so they can get their scorpion claws by default instead of items that might actually be worth something like dynamis currency.

It's supposed to decay though, so that only works if you have enough points for your next medal at the time your current one expires. So if you just got enough to pass and stop with too much time left on your current medal there's a good chance your points will decay too much and you'll lose it anyway.

I hated that, too. I didn't really enjoy campaign all that well unless I had friends going with me, and it was discouraging to find, oops, medal expired, oh, goddamn, lost it now, too. Which means less xp, shittier ops, and really just all around sucks. Campaign works in a way towards the casual players, but also kicks them if they just can't manage to get on.

I just found it a struggle to manage the time to even do campaign, even if I wanted to. And when I did find the time around my camps/events schedule, I typically would prefer to find myself an xp party, not waste that time getting peanuts in campaign. If medals didn't decay, I probably would have worked myself up even more, but working for like two months to raise my rank to the cap at the time, then have to wait for the update and find I've lost two ranks in the process, well, that blows.

Folks, when you go in with a brand new Abyssea alliance, please go in with THREE (3) stones (or 90+ minutes), not two. It's not easy to get enough TEs in 60 minutes, and when you time out, your reps have no lights, which fucks up everyone else from getting enough TEs to be self-sustaining.

Three shall be the number of the counting! We're okay with four, but two is right out!

If you're having a problem getting enough stones, you're doing too much Abyssea... or having too many timeouts, see above. Take a break, let your stones grow.

Also, why the hell do people idle next to Joachim/Horst? Get your fucking stones and GTFO. If you're out of stones, standing next to him won't make them come any faster. All you're doing is stinking up the place with lag and with yet another obstacle between someone actually coming for stones and where they need to go to get them. And SE, could you at least put Horst on the opposite side of those stairs to the chocobo rental?

(Admittedly, Horst is supposed to give Bastion battle info, so that's a reason to stand around him, but that's also a reason for SE to get him away from Joachim. Still, people were idling around Joachim before the update.)

All day farming of the quests that drop those seals, aiming for PUP and BRD. What do I get all day? 2 Bard and 3 PUP. RDM and MNK aren't even 10 yet, but I can sure upgrade those AF3 pieces.
