After swearing it off for a couple of years, I've finally decided to make a 2nd attempt at leveling BLU sub for my upcoming DRG.

Learning BLU spells is the worst activity in the game, hands down, not even a remote contest. I would rather pay 50,000 per scroll per spell than deal with the learning system.

Least you probably have access to all of the areas. That is where my BLU downfall becomes evident.

Don't get me started on BLU spell learning, I think I could run a search in this topic and find my long rant on taking forever to learn certain spells, and getting others after 1-3 tries. All I can say is just try and keep your skill close to capped, capped preferably, and pray to whatever god you worship.

Yeah, I don't even know how I managed to get my BLU to 72. Half it's spells are missing and so I just started fresh on a new charcater. I can remember when I had only just started out in Sarutabaruta and I was trying to get Cocoon and Pollen and it took me forever.

I never actuarly got Refueling because sadly I hadn't completed the Promy's on that character and so they only way to get it was to go to Mt. Zhayolm and try my luck with the Sweeping Clusters. Unfortunatly, just when I went to get the spell my router broke. ><

Needless to say, I couldn't get any help with spells such as Hysteric Barrage and so I quit.

Yeah, I agree Blue Mage spells are a pain to get and sometimes I wish I could buy them myself - but where is the fun in that?

Also I think I'll add Norg Fame to my list because it was either 250 Yagudo Necklaces or buying Zinc Ore over and over for around 70k. I'll never forget it.

And fighting avatars on their day. Ifrit on Firesday was not good.

Learning BLU spells isn't so bad once you get up a few levels. I can think of alot of activities I found less enjoyable, and actually, once I got into it, learning spells was alot of fun. The early spells are some of the hardest to learn because you have such little BLU skill. Once you get the AF gloves, it's alot easier, and learning by the 2nd or 3rd time becomes pretty much the norm, assuming your blu skill is capped. After that, the hardest ones are where you have to break the weapon (ie. frenetic rip, hysteric barrage, etc) to get the mob to use the spell. Like everything in this game, the best things take effort and time to get. BLU spells are no different. For me, I got alot more satisfaction and enjoyment learning BLU spells than I did spending time farming to buy spells for other jobs. But that's just me.

I'm trying to balance the practicality of it only being a DRG sub(read: I only really need Cocoon, Head Butt/Foot Kick, Pollen, and the STR/DEX bonus spells) with my OCD-ness about having to know every spell available for every job that I level.

I'll probalby skip a few minor spells here and there, but I still kinda just want to crank it out to 37 ASAP and bury it in my dungeon of forgotten subjobs that will never see the light of level 38.

This. Damn I hated leveling BLU. The last few days were slightly less of a pain as someone had picked Martial Master kupopower and I could cap blue magic skill faster.

Power Outtages (or any other uncontrollable d/c's) that make your campaign battle or besieged battle count for nothing. After running all across the past Vana'diel for a good 30 min last night and missing battles by mere seconds (maps refreshing faster would be a nice update) I FINALLY get into a major conflict, and 2 waves in, BLAM!! ... Seattle gets first black-out I've seen here. Grrrrrr... worst part tho was non-game. Cuz the power was out, my bathroom fan (aka litter vent) didn't work and I was woken up out of a dead sleep from my cat's poooooooo. Lil bastard dropped some dooooozies.

I stopped doing Besieged for about a year before I changed to PC because of the 360 sucking, I couldn't make it through a single battle without the system locking up 5 minutes before the battle ended and killing all of my points.

Mine does too... Elwynn clued me in on a trick to get around it. Hide. I hide in the North section outside the Astral Condescence door when I see people /sh'n that theres 5-10min left. The cap on I.S./xp in Besieged is strange. I've DC'd with only 10-15min remaining, come back in, join the fight, hopefully don't DC again, and gotten just a tiny bit less (100-300) than others who've lasted the whole fight.

If I had the xp from all the times I've DC'd from campaign/besieged, I'd have another 75 already.

FYI - Kupowers are picked randomly. Players finding mog tablets do not get to vote on or pick which kupowers they wish to have active.

All Armor sets cannot be stored. I am the kind of person who would be an entire set even tho I would only use one piece just beable to store it when I am not using it. I wont buy/get armor sets that cannot be stored because I am running out storage slots.

This past weekend I saw a pair of Igquira Hauches(sp?) in ah and would have bought them to complete my weskit set but noticed they cannot be stored. I would have loved the +4 to Dark skill on them.

Thats fine and dandy since its only gonna be a sub, my recommendation is keeping your blue magic skill capped, its made all the difference on some spells dude

Stop trying to take away the shadow person for me to be angry at when we get Mystery Boxes: Windurst for the 5th straight week.
