Yes, but Nyzul has a relatively small margin of error for idiocy, one stupid mistake can bone the entire run, and I've already presented my thesis on what happens when someone is on BLU. Yes they theoretically can be very useful, but in reality 95% of them sit and spam Disseverment and Hysteric Barrage to feed ridiculous amounts of TP to Cerb who just sits and spams Hoplon in response, then after you time out or wipe they're like DOODZ DID U SEE HOW MUCH DAMAGE I DID TO IT?!.
I'll keep my BRD.

And that made me forget the actual thing I came to crab here about: people ditching city Dynamis and expecting to keep their priority on northlands drops. We have 11 total people online(1 who was at the time going to be either our only BRD or only BLM), 3 of whom have already stated that they have shaky connections due to weather issues, so I decide on Sandy instead of Xarc. Two people say 'fuck sandy' then skip the run to go fish and farm, as if we would have been able to get shit from Xarc anyways, leaving us even more shorthanded. And I know for a fact that at least one of them will throw a total shitfit if I take any sort of disciplinary measure about it, and likely leave the shell.
I'm really ready to be done with Dynamis in general, but I'm not sure what will happen to the shell if I cut it from our schedule.

Yeah, I will say that until I'm more used to fighting big nasty bosses on my Blu, I tend to prefer to floor climb with Blu and hit boss floors with Drg.
Once I max say, Blue Magic merits and a few other things to help with enfeebling resists, I'll be more inclined to go Blu. Until then however, having Angon go before the Samurai WS barrage is just too handy.
I should probably look more into how to use Blu on bosses though. The only problem is that the single hit spells would be the best to use on the bosses IMO, but that requires /thf to work and I just haven't given that a try yet. If I get into my LS's Nyzul static, and if I can go Blu, I may give it a try however.
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.
I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.
I wasn't saying anyone needs a BRD, Nyzul is incredibly flexible, what I was saying is the author of the guide they posted took a DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE A BRD INTO NYZUL stance, which is just as stupid as saying that a BRD is critical for success.
You didn't read farther where it says when it's okay to bring a BRD? Like when the bard is a known definite non-idiot and can do backup heals? I thought the arguments against bards were very sound.
My Nyzul peeve is that nobody ever wants to do 1-5, except the occasional pick-up shout in WG. They just want to spam the n*20 levels. I've heard that n*20+1..5 levels (including n=0) tend to be more annoying, but still, once people get up, they don't want to help anyone else get up. And WHM and BLM are not exactly demand jobs for Nyzul anyhow. Mystic Boon? Yeah, maybe by the time FFXIV comes out. If I'm lucky.

All I can say is, if they're not going to be there for runs they don't care for, and will take anything you try to do as an excuse to leave, you're probably better off without them and not thinking they might show...

I think you want to cut it. Seriously, from one server to the next, you're still dealing with the same shit and the same kind of douchebags you were before. With their attitudes in mind, they'd leave soon as they got what they needed and act like they don't deserve any fuss over it.
Sometimes you have to be the "bad guy" and just rid yourself of the idiots, just make sure your sacks are privy to it and in agreement. If they're chums with the morons, then expect them to leave with them, but then that leaves you with either faithful members to promote from within or seek replacements.
It really doesn't matter if its a social LS or an endgame one, whether you make the good or bad decisions, so long as people are following your lead, there are gonna be people that act like they know better but have no initiative to get things done on their own.
Aside from priority, I'd take a step back and analyze your system. While priority sytems are all well and good, if there's no pressure to spend them there's no loss of points plus priority for not attending , they're going to sit on them and pretend to skip events or just do something else.
I would suggest putting an expiration period on points to increase attendance and competition for priority. I'd also add higher point values to city attendance than Northlands. Since Northlands is so easy of a want for people, there should be practically no points given for being there. They attend Northlands because they want stuff, they don't attend cities because they don't want things from them and don't want those starting out to get to where they are.
Give a point and priority for cities, but .25 to attending Northlands no priority for Northlands and then set it all to expire every two or three months. People will shape up or they'll leave for another LS they can be a fuckwit in. This system adds something they dread anyway - it evens the playing field periodically and their tenure means as much as someone who just got their last city win.
I guess it really just depends on how many non-fuckwits aside from you there actually are.
Any opinions expressed are my own, and potentially unpopular with others. Should this be upsetting, maybe, read it again, insert smiley faces, rainbows, and glitter as needed.

That part was added due to the original version getting laughed at when it was posted, but yeah like I said I don't agree with how they do everything but it's got some decent information.

I left it to the shellholder to handle, the main issue being that our rules technically allow you to skip events every now and then to relax a bit without impunity, even to do things ingame, but we have to draw a line between "I don't feel up for Dynamis tonight" and "I don't feel up for Dynamis tonight if it's a zone that doesn't drop what I need". She has a way with people and said she'd handle the disciplinary end so I left it up to her, but let everyone know that I'm on the last strike of dealing with Dynamis in general, since at this point me doing it is mostly a community service. The only reason I didn't cut it off the bat is that some people very recently transferred servers to join our shell or left other Dynamis shells that they'd been longtime members of to do it in-house with us, so I don't want to dick them over.
The big problem I had is that our original total overhaul of our Dynamis system was due almost entirely to one person throwing a shitfit, and that's the main person who responded with 'fuck Sandy', and they're also our Salvage leader. They're an important part of the shell and a good member generally, but seeing as how I'm the main healer for every Salvage run I doubt they'd like it if I started skipping all the boss runs that didn't drop shit I need to go lfg on SCH. My one big issue with our current system was that I didn't want people specifically skipping cities and not getting docked for priority, and that person agreed that someone doing so would be a BS move, but lo and behold.
Anyways, peeve for the night:
East Temenos chests. I used to have good luck, but now I swear they're out to get me. 6/6 on getting the wrong chest tonight, no deaths to AF or anything but still cost us a loot chest since I had to take a time to make up for all our Avatars. 2x BST and no COR to boot.

I don't do dyna, but I understand that for this very reason, many dyna shells don't announce which zone they're going into until it's almost time to {gather together}. That way it's harder to get away with skipping a run just because you don't want to farm a city zone. If the dodgers want to drop half a mil of their own gil to play around in Xarc, great, but I doubt they will.
But I like the idea of putting more points on city zones.

Or how about Redmages that convert mid battle then divine seal CureIV and complain when they pull hate?!?
To comment, since the last job I have been leveling is RDM, some time people are just assholes and don't want to wait cause they think an extra 3 seconds to pull that colibri/imp(cause these are the only exp mobs that exist apparently, a seperate peeve). I'll be low on mp, ready to convert, and I notice the THF or RNG or whoever is pulling is not within sight, and he's already running back with another damn bird. I, of course, wait till the mob is at like 10% to get Convert ready since that's around the health he left last time, fucker is already back with ANOTHER bird.
Which honestly, brings me to my real peeve that prolly has happened in every MMO i've played that has a healing class; People not being mindful of your healer's MP. While I'd prefer to be the Refresh/Haste bitch and let the WHM or SMN or SCH do the main healing, since that has always been imo something that makes handling xp party situations easy, that is not always the case. I'll be invited to Refresh/Main Heal or Co-Heal and of course, Haste every single melee cause god forbid if I only give the tank Haste so they can use their abilities faster. And of course in these types of situations, the paragraph above is generally what happens. Then if something goes wrong, like a melee pulling aggro, I don't have enough MP to heal both them AND the tank this fight, so I of course let them die, we finish the fight and he'll get a Raise 1.
Despite all that, for some reason this game still draws me in. Fucking SE needs to get into the drug business.

To me, playing rdm was like crack. I leveled it 6 times. I just love every damn aspect of the job and how versatile it is. But yes, the abuse we take sometimes really peeves me off. I had parties on a regular basis that wouldn't mind my mp. I'd remind them and they'd ignore me. I'd even say I needed to "wc" and they'd say ok, after this one but would keep pulling. (And yes I should have just went but I don't like to be rude since its not everyone in the partys fault.) But I have on occasion just sat there and let the party die when they'd be that last straw on a bad day. You know what? It never mattered either because I'd still get assloads of invites. lol One time I did it and the next day I was in a party with one of the people I killed. He said straight out in the party "Don't piss her off, she'll just let you die but she's a good rdm." LOL

(02:05:55 AM) Yib: alright, you have reasonable worries [ed. He's referring to my concerns with coming back to ffxi.]
(02:06:41 AM) Feba: honestly, I'm not that interested. SE's customer service and treatment is really, really shitty, and FFXI really isn't a very good game. It's VANA'DIEL that I loved, you could give me Vana'diel in the format of a puzzle game and I'd probably still love it. But FFXIV dropped Vana'diel, and (mostly) kept the gameplay

I've had that happen to me a few times. I'd be sitting there doing my job be it Drk, Rdm, Whm, Nin, and I'd say "{Time remaining} 30 {Minute}s. Theyd say ok, and we continue. At 10 mins left, Id say I have 10 mins left. Then at the end, I say lost boss, but they keep pulling. And I'd remind them 3 times, then I'd just get pissed and D/C because they wont stop pulling.
