Once you hit 50, you can hope to one-shot mobs in Gustav, and at 51 you can expect to, so it's really not THAT bad ... the 50-60 range is painless if you can get the good camps.

I'm doing that right now. Mostly I'm doing the 9 tiger/2 goblin FoV page, but every now and then I'll slip into the tower and try a Tonberry elemental. I've died a few times on the elementals, and I've gotten 200xp a few times, and once I died, then got right back up and nuked the near-dead elemental as it was running back.

I also want Retrace (and at least one more level for the Sleepga II scroll I have waiting for me), but right now I'm looking forward to Freeze even more.

Also, I got lucky a couple of times and saw a Besieged that had just started. So I'm even keeping my magic skills capped.

Just got 39, so that means I still have 11 levels of pain before I get there.

Actually, the elementals in Castle Zvahl aren't bad, getting to that camp is a huge pain in the ass (since it's all the way at the zone to Keep) but that was where I first tried my hand at soloing BLM and I was surprised at how easy it actually was once I got the hang of it. Though at 35-40 I was still getting the occasional party. I always solo with my flag up. I rarely wanted to duo with random people I didn't know, but I wouldn't mind the occasional CN or Desert party invite I'd get.

Yep, thing is it's going to be tricky because I can't play long enough to xp in a party most of the time, so I'll probably leave it for weekends and stuff...

              Or might just put it on hold for now, just thinking about leveling blm has completely drained any desire I had to play XI tonight. <_<;

Ahh, Persona 3 is such a great game.

Then I suggest that you spam FoV page 1 in glacier as BLM/NIN. Utsusemi, Sleep, Bind, nuke, repeat. It's a bit slow, but it's taken me to 46 so far. Stick to Smithy and Furrier for the gobs. If you bind Furrier at maximum range, he can't shoot you. The tigers do NOT link, and the bat eyes can aggro to sound.

Pet Peeve: Moblin Maze Mongers again. Now, I can perfectly understand it if S-E gimped the marble rate for Level 1 Voucher 01 runs. But if my linkshell is going to bother putting themselves under Level Sync through two tiers of Elementals, we had better get more than just 8 marbles with a consolatory handful of experience appended on to it for bothering with the Sync in the first place. We had a bunch of MMM newcomers in that run, and I don't think they were very much pleased by this system that is getting them nowhere fast, no matter what they do.

And you know what, this is the exact same freaking fundamental flaw in the Mazes that there was (and still is!) with the Crafting Vouchers or any Voucher that sets monster difficulty relative to the highest-leveled party member: Level Sync just doesn't work the way it's supposed to in MMM. Really, you had just released the systems three months apart from each other, it shouldn't be that hard to make them a little more compatible somehow. And now we are witnessing the exact same problem for the Voucher(s) that syncs the mob difficulty relative to the lowest-leveled member.

Really, S-E, if you wanted to make MMM a more attractive system, I expected more than this out of you. I expected something that would *not* conflict with the already widely successful system, but instead work with it. On my own time, I will see more things about what has changed with MMM, such as the improved soloability of the Crafting Tabula as well as maybe what the Stealth Tabula has to offer, because I know one thing's for certain: if there's going to be any way for me to consistently get Marbles in any way, it's going to be solo, because level disparities just kill the system.

You may just be stuck doing them once every few days. I've been hearing people report that they got 40-60 bonus marbles from the second chest when they used 6 C.C points to order the maze. If that's true, then I could see doing that. It's not as nice as getting 30+ marbles per run like you used to be able to, but then again few people made a farming maze back then, so it's not like that was terribly common either.

I haven't made a maze yet with C.C points yet, since I forgot to order a maze after that update in order to get them, so I haven't seen how many marbles I get with it yet. However assuming that you can get say, 40 marbles from it with a decent setup, then I'm good with the changes. They made it take longer to get to the NMs, but increased the drop rate if you use C.C points. Also, at least for the Koggelmander, this is better than any other offhand sword option. The other "best" option would be the Fragarch sword, which currently is a drop from one of those sandworm BCNMs if I remember correctly, and runs for about 4mil.

4 mil vs free sword... Even if it takes a little longer now I'm rather good with that. Does depend on the C.C point stuff that I've been hearing about though.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

If that thing about the C.C. points is true, Vy, then that's good for me, and likely everyone else in my Linkshell that bothered with MMM yesterday. For me, I don't intend to try out MMM again until I get some Paladin stuff wrapped up (Level 33, RSE Body, Level 35), and as for anyone else, I don't think they'd be motivated to try that stuff again any time soon anyway.

Still, if I'm going to get anything beneficial from my C.C. points, I might as well do Maze Voucher 01 again rather then blow the points on experimenting with Voucher 04 or 06. Heck, the exp bonus at the end may make it worth fighting through two tiers of elementals Level Synced again, at least depending on which elements they are. We were lucky to get Earth and Water Elementals that particular run: they could have been much worse elements, like, say, Ice and Air.

Depending on how many marbles you have, you may want to consider getting a rune that will restrict the mobs to a certain family. I use the lizard rune since I'm going for the Koggelmander, but if I wanted something really easy I'd probably go for the bird rune.

Don't forget that now the mobs no longer link, but they still aggro. Not linking opens up quite a bit of possibilities for MMM, especially in the solo area.

Vy, to be honest, if I'm going to buy a Rune, I'm saving up for the Lost and Found first and foremost, which, surprise of surprises, I haven't gotten yet. =/ My exact Marble count at this moment is 124, though, so I guess I can afford to blow it on the Stealth Voucher if that proves promising.
