I really need to start accepting applications for people if they want my assistance with things.

I'm out in Saur. Champaign farming Cockatrice and Coreul Meats, also hoping for a Treasure Casket with a Herder's Subligar to show up. I see Deadly Dodo is out and I check the zone for any MNKs that might need.

So I start the fight, but hold back a little so I can get a MNK to tag in PT for the Dodo Skin.

A JP MNK passes by and I offer to invite him in so he can get the Dodo Skin.

Dodo Skin doesn't drop, but Mr. JP MNK insists on lotting the cockatrice skin that does drop. I don't think he's read up on the quest, as I see he doesn't have any kind of belt. I let him have it anyway, though.

It's not that I mind partying at all, it's that I get bored if a party is really slow. I used to not feel that way, but now that I've had some really good parties, I can't stand parties that suck, and I feel like an asshole if I tell them that's why I'm leaving, so I'll put up with it for an hour or so. This is especially true if I'm a replacement.

Level sync has alleviated that somewhat, as finding replacements is less of a burden, but it's also made things more of a problem. You simply can't pull 10k/hr in Yhoatar Jungle. The pulls are too long, and sleepga kills chains. Yet people keep inviting me to xp there, mostly because all of the good camps (Qufim, East Ronfaure [S], for example) are already full. And more often than not, I'm too nice to say no, so I'll go and put up with it. Lately, been leveling Bard, and therefore I've been pulling, which means I have some level of control over how fast/slow the party goes, but there isn't much you can do with the xp in some areas.

To that end, I can't stand xping. When it's slow. Which is what makes campaign a chore. And on top of that, SE's dumb idea that you lose your rank every 30 days is ... well ... dumb. It's bullshit that I have to keep going back there and playing it to keep my rank, especially when I don't like it.

When we are asked BEFORE Dynamis-Xarcabard to bring our COR mules and have them ready for reset, so we can zerg multiple fragments and Dynamis Lord. I bring two mules on COR, along with my main to actually do Dynamis. Tri boxing that shit, yo. Set the mules up outside the zone and log them out, then enter Dynamis.

And then, when we're ready to do the resets, people are like, "Oh, we need CORs?"

Coffer key drop rates in certain zones.

Took me almost 4 hours to get a key for Castle Zvahl Baileys this week for my WAR AF legs. The first two were spent duoing (on my 75 PLD) with a 75 DRK/THF friend, doing nonstop killing, obliterating every other mob with a skillchain. It had gotten to the point that we would sometimes come full circle and have to wait for respawns. It took me another two hours of soloing demons bored out of my skull to get the stupid key - and my friend still needs his. Seriously, what the hell? I can get 2 Kuftal keys in an hour soloing crabs.

I also remember one time that it took us almost 6 hours to get a single Beadeaux Coffer Key for a MNK friend.

We sell fragments for gil, so often we need the resets to zerg. We enter Dynamis with about 25-30 people so we can't really conserve two hours. We will often do two to three fragments PLUS Dynamis Lord.

The state of EXP these days. People want to THINK they're leet, but it's unlikely people have the cojones to exp on Kindred.



Like, seriously. KRT? Ulli Camp? Celestial Nexus? Lufaise? I swear, some people are so asinine.

I understand; Sky takes forever to get to. I GET IT. But it's an empty camp full of mobs ASKING to be exped on.

Not to mention the CONFUSING dialog you get when you try to renew and you're already at the highest rank. Err, my medal has expired and you're asking if I want to hold onto my medal for a few days longer to see if I can get more points on it? And then there's the "Do you want to do <ambiguous thing> with your medal? Yes/No" question, which I always get wrong.


But that's not what brought me here today. What brought me here is the quest they call "Rat Race". The quest that you get by talking to a particular rat-face in Nashmau, which is one of the things you're likely to do the first time you're there, because they're so funny. The quest that FREAKING BLOCKS main-line Aht Uhrgan quests from completing. The quest that requires FIVE FREAKING RARE FISH to complete it (and no shortcut by buying the less rare result food that you need the five fish to make). Five fish that are hardly ever on the AH, and only one of which is less than fishing skill 50 or so.

After a week, I've gotten three of the fish so far. And I see the same names on FFXIAH for most of the five fish, which means I'm not the only victim of this.

Ah yes...The dreaded Casinos. I've never seen one in Whitegate, but I know they are usually in Lower Jeuno at the fountain every once in awhile. I haven't seen one in a good while on my server.

There was about four of those shouting the other day in WG. then you had the people shouting at the casinos and calling them RMT. Then there were the people shouting at the new casinos for ripping off the original casino runner's idea. Oh and then there are the people shouting to tell the people yelling "RMT HAX!" to sit down and shut up.

And people wonder why I always filter out shouts (unless I need to say something myself) when I zone into WG

I'm fairly tolerable of inept players. Encountering them is just apart of every game so they don't bother me so much. Eventually they either get better or develop a reputation for sucking. Either way, a solution is found. However, what DOES bother me is the misuse of the auto translate function. <May><Bee> being the most common. This was instituted to facilitate communication between players of different languages, not to create more confusion. You have to use tools properly. One doesn't replace a hand saw with a hammer.

I'm soo happy to start 1.5 hrs late on something that FFxiPedia says could last 4-6hrs.
