The way I look at it, if a mage is going to get bent out of shape for being asked to do the job they signed up for in the first place, I'm not going to tank any of those mobs that can tear them to shreds. It's simple and effective, but I do still wonder why people play certain jobs if they get their panties all bunched up over being asked to toss a simple healing spell at a fellow campaigner. We're supposed to be in the same army, you know.

Hmm, maybe it's because we get CRAP XP for doing that job. And no one is saying there's anything against tossing a few cures out. But get fifty melees asking for "a few cures" and suddenly I have no MP and I can't support myself anymore.

If I wanted an xp party where I would spend hours hasting and curing, I'd get one. I want to melee in campaign, and I can tank very well thank you. Nothing wrong with uber DDs learning some self-sufficiency. Those are the same tards who never bring oils and powders to aggro zones.

I'm a BST and I cure people in campaign.

Mostly because doing so gets me enmity to plug into my pets with Snarl so I can steal hate from your RDM who thinks he can hold hate on campaign mobs.

The way your post read (and was obviously not what you meant), it sounded like you didn't want mages meleeing. I have no problems curing/meleeing as long as I'm not a full time backline supporter. At which point, THAT is suxor XP.

All I wanted was a few heals for tanking the mob that the whole group is on and was pulled. One raging rush and I out aggro everyone, I guess people don't actually try in campaign because no one heals >.>

I went to campaign as 66war/nin so I had something to do while LFP as I already got fishing fatigue and did not get a party yet. I'm not mad at the whms who melee but also heal if someone needs it, just the typical melee whm who will just haste themselves and let others die.

You want someone to heal you? There's this thing called a "party" that (surprise!) even works in campaign

This really doesn't leave much to the imagination, you might as well just say fuck you and not bother wasting your time. Do you run by corpses of new players and make rude emotes, and tell them to go to hell when they ask for a raise? It kinda sounds like it.

Id have no problem if they used their mana to keep the people tanking their mobs alive or if they cured like a paladin to keep hate and tank, but a lot of the melee white mages will just haste themselves and melee letting thee melee hold hate and die off so no damage is done and no progress is made on offensive campaign battles. If people stayed alive we would be able to attack the fortifications.

I understand white mages may want to melee some times and have some potential but this is a game about minmaxing in groups, your letting your "team" down in an multi player game when you don't even do the most basic healing to keep someone alive especially if they are tanking a mob for you.

The main problem is that melee classes don't tank mobs anymore. I only see one or two vokes per campaign battle and really using anything that produces more hate than a Cure II often means that the WHM gets thier face torn off.

This generally happens:

Paladin WS's
Paladin gets some hate,
Paladin dosn't bother to voke
Paladin takes hits
Paladin loses hate
WHM cures Paladin
Paladin doesn't voke
Other Melee classes don't voke
WHM runs out of MP trying to tank a mob that is now linking with the other surrounding mobs
WHM clicks yes when asked to reraise
WHM is stuck with weakness and no MP
WHM gets bitched at in /tell for being unable to raise or cure
RDMs are let off scot free and carry on meleeing

But it's okay for you to effectively say "fuck you" to me for not doing main heal in campaign? The name calling means that you've run out of arguments, so you might as well just stop before you make yourself look stupider.

See Firewind's message above. People don't tank in campaign, at least not enough of them to even bother trying. And trying usually means WHM becomes the tank. I've even raised people who go right back to /attack on the mob while weakened. Yeah, those are the people who really deserve cures. It's even worse in Besieged, where the mobs literally spin around from the bouncy hate. I suggest you try /THF in campaign and try to land a Sneak Attack. Maybe then you'll understand what we're talking about. If you have problems getting Sneak Attack to work, that's because nobody is tanking.

Seriously, we don't owe you anything, despite whatever delusions you have. Show me where in the ToS it says that WHM is obligated to throw you cures in campaign. If that's what you want, make a fucking party from what few friends a whiny prima donna like you must have, or GTFO. You're no better than the people who whine for a Poisona the moment you get a 1HP/tick Poisionga.

Honestly I can name you the only Paladins that have actually tanked a mob for me while I do my job and support them, Demontro, Daley and Zanarken (though the latter two are raising other jobs in campaign now). There are Ninja that tank but they tend to die very quickly in campaign compared to other classes due to AoE being spammed a lot.

I'll also add that people don't pull in campaign either. I've seen a group of melee fighters literally stand there staring at the mobs bashing the fort for 5 minutes until someone pulls. I usually have to pull one with Dia/Flash then start spamming my Celerity+Repose macro when the inevitable linking happens then have to deal with tanking two mobs because some tard just cast an AoE spell/put DoT on the mob I slept. Thanks, now I'm tanking two mobs at once with no COR or BRD helping because they get meripo invites and I can't put any of them to sleep to sleep. *facepalm*

It's why I'm always either /SMN or /NIN in campaign now to be honest, it's so I can pul/tank/kite stuff without dying instantly

When did I say that? I only stated that curing people while fighting mobs at the same time is beneficial to everyone involved. You get exp, I stay alive that much longer so Go'Bhu Herohunter doesn't ram his sword in your ass sideways. Also, your seething internet rage left you open for that comment about being a dick to new players. It goes with the territory.

I can agree with this, and I have tried /THF in campaign. It actually went pretty well, I only missed a couple of times. I like the exp from /WAR better though, and it helps me to contribute more to the battle. I noticed that people also don't pull, so I do that along with tanking.

I'm just trying to point out that people do tank in campaign, maybe you're on a server full of jerks or something, I'm not sure. I even have competition quite often for tanking, and we usually set it up so we're on different mobs at once. It works especially well when the mages work with us, and ensures that everything runs smoothly. Have you ever been in a campaign without a single death? I've seen it a bunch of times, and every time it was because of the mages and melees working together. Maybe you should open your eyes during campaign and look around to see what people are doing instead of making generalisations on the internet.

I never said you owed me anything, either. The way I look at campaigns and the game in general, if I have spells and abilities I'm going to use them on whomever I can, because victories come so much easier when everybody helps each other out and I'm not sure why everyone else seems to have such a problem with it. It's a really simple concept to grasp and it isn't hard to be a buddy to your fellow players instead of a dick, because when you help them out, they'll help you out down the road.
