So i ran into this guy at a game store I used to frequent, he happens to play FFXI in the internet cafe portion of the store. I was just there looking for DS games, but I since I like talking about FFXI and its so rare to do it in real life, I figured what the hell.

As we get to talking he tells me that he's the leader of an HNM linkshell on his server.

Everything he said after that was the wrong thing

(1) He's showed me this site he was looking at and wouldn't you know it, he's looking to buy an Aegis PLD off of it. I already want to take this dude outside and kick the shit out of him. Nothing like telling someone you buy accounts and gil to start off a conversation.

(2) We get to talking about EXP/Merits and I get into a little rant about BRDs never kieeping buffs up. He's like "But all BRDs are good."

Bullcrap, now I really want to kick this guy's ass.

(3) All his strats boil down to having GHorn BRDs and Aegis PLDs. He bought some of them online.

(4) I tell him I'm currently working on BST. He proceeds to tell me what an awesome experience it is when you have a RDM PLing you.

I politely cut the conversation short with a made-up excuse to leave, I have friends that work at that store other hours and I'd like to still visit there. Applying my boot to his head would have made that difficult.

Are you sure the router booted you or did the server boot you? I know when the server boots me and I try to log back in it'll give some weird error message about me being already logged in. So usually when I get D/C I'll log in as a mule and logout correctly then log back into my main. Other than that IDK what you are talking about.

No its the router, it happens everytime I play using a router.

When I was using just my old modem, I never got kicked.

SE needs to remove their thumbs from their asses and kill the 30 sec disconnect rule.

They do it on purpose. Just about every MMO I've played, your character stays on for 30 seconds to 1 minute if you disconnect. It is done that way so you can't just D/C when you're losing a fight to avoid death/exp loss. If your character automatically disappeared whenever you logged off, nobody would ever die again. Parties would expect/be expected to force DC whenever things turned bad. People could steal NMs and then depop them out of spite, pull insane amounts of mobs at merit camps, forcing other parties to leave.

If I were kitten, I would have tried to get the names and servers of the bought accounts so I could report them to the STF later on. Oh, and his main as well, if you could manage to tolerate him that far.

That would have been a kick in the junk without getting in trouble.

Still, I had never heard that when you try to Use an item while paralyzed, failure means that the item/charge is USED.

Yes... don't attempt to learn a spell with Paralyze still active. You will break something or someone in RL... There's the "street" rumor of the dude who did that with Utsutsemi Ichi or Ni (or insert any other really expensive/hard to get spell). I think it's just a scary story to remind us all to check for paralyze before we do anything like that. But who knows. Lotsa people don't know bout Para's evil ways.

Seeing someone get their 2nd pair of boots off Paralyzing Pair of the day and being 0/15+ on any good drops (ya know, not Elm logs and junk). Course on my orb we have a disasterous wipe I (Thf/Nin) had absolutely no control of on my orb-run (Rdm misBind, Sam couldn't stop getting petrified) Very difficult to be happy for someone at that point.

There should be a script that they can come up with that determines when youre being disconnected intentionally and when you intentionally disconnect.

People who play with routers get screwed over because of this.

Am I the only one that gets screwed over by this?

Currently 3 hours in and nothing, I don't think I've ever gotten this key to drop in less than 3 hours.

Rusty fecking Subligar. In no less than 15 minutes (that is ONE SINGLE BLOODY FERRY TRIP) I've lost 3 Shrimp Lures to them:

Cast 1: Mob, reeled in my line
Cast 2: Item, reeled in my line
Cast 3: Noble Lady
Cast 4: Noble Lady
Cast 5: Stamina depletes like a neb, line break
Cast 6: Neb
Cast 7: Stamina again depletes like a neb, Line break
Cast 8: Neb
Cast 9: Stamina depletes like a Noble Lady usually does, line break

That is 2 8k lures lost in a row for a total of 24k being tossed away in less than 15 minutes. Stuck on my last 9k and I have COR eqips and bullets to buy before I can carry on levelling that job.

If anyone would like to give me the address of whoever programmed this stamina system I would greatly appreciate it since I would like to shove my foot up his/her/it's rear.
