1) 4 words No jump/climb button: Only game ive played where you can fall off a 2 story cliff but cant step over a 1 inch ledge.

2) 30 second disconnect rule: If youre on a router, you know what I mean, SE sucks.

3) When youre pling (and I do alot of it), when the stupid healer of the party decides to heal when youve done told him to enfeeble so you dont waste any mp, it gets extremely annoying (70Pld/35Whm = Mega Tank)

And here one of my pet peeves is HAVING a PL as main heal ... though it doesn't apply so much now that I have WHM75, since there's always another role I can fill (but I'm still not happy about it).

The absolute worst thing you can do is tell the healer in a PT NOT to heal. You are doing nothing for any of the PT. Instead, when PLing a PT, insist that the tank tries to tank, the healer heals the PT and you just provide support if things get messy. Act as a safety net. Then, melees can learn how to toe the hate line, tanks learn how to keep hate (if they can keep hate off of a PL, then they're doin' something right, no?), and healers learn which spell to use without pulling hate.

Often, if I happen to PL a LS mate or my wife, I keep an eye on them, but allow the healer to keep the PT alive. If the healer takes a knee, then I'll take over until they have sufficient MP to resume their duties. I'll also help 'clean up' after messy AoEs, just to save them some MP. In this way, the PT doesn't have to stop pulling, everyone is still doing (and learning) their job, and (hopefully) everyone is happy.

Seriously, the PLs that tell people in the parties not to do their job are the ones who are doing it wrong. If a PL says "don't voke off of me" or whines about wasting MP (as a PL) because the healer in the party is healing, then that PL should just find something better to do, because despite what they may be thinking, they aren't doing anyone any favors.

Elwynn: Whatever you do, don't help them. This is FFXI's weeding-out process. Let it do its work.

I was going by the "one pop set per customer" principle. If you're too stupid to know what to do with that after I get it for you in record time, you don't get any more. I wandered into the mines a bit later to see what was going on, and they sent me a blind invite almost immediately. I just walked back out and logged out to go get lunch. I have a suspicion they might have been RMT going by a cargo-cult script written by another idiot RMT. I'm sure that "send /tells to every 75 in the area" is part of that script. In any case, I could tell that English was not their native language.

It was also reinforcement that anyone who gives you a /tell of "{hello}" and nothing else is an idiot who doesn't have anything useful to say. If you need something, give me some clue in your first message or I will likely ignore you.

EDIT: now the 20 is a 26 with no sub on the Al Zahbi ferry, and the other one is an anon in Bhlafau Thickets. Yeah, definitely RMT, and probably knew they could lie that they needed a subjob so that they could get AU unlock items. And I thought from the start that it was odd that anyone was asking for Mhaura pop items for their subjob quest (because of dunes brain damage), when they didn't even have the wild rabbit tail already. Next time this happens in Buburimu, it's gonna take a lot of convincing before I help someone get pop items.

If they had no sub I'd think it's safe to say they were trying to get subjobs.

We've been perpetuating the "no subjob after you should have had one" thing, with Summoner burns. We'll grab level 15 syncs and get them to 24 in like eight minutes, and sometimes they don't have subjob unlocked lol. Oops. If someone asked me to help them get SJ I probably would though, it's not like the drops are impossible to get.

As a newb I was foolish enough to start the Mhaura quest without all the items, and I was 20-22 before someone said "hey do you need help with your subjob quest"? I was trying to return the favor to someone else who needed it, but all I got was feeling insulted that they wouldn't even listen to me when they could have finished it RIGHT FREAKING THERE. Yeah, you're going to have fun trying to get someone IN Gusgen Mines help you.

My general rule of thumb if I do PL a party:

I heal the tank, he does his best to tank and if they have a healer in the party then they take care of the rest of the party. I can't be trying to either tab through the people, or else try to click on them, when they're all running around. Especially if they are Taru.

Besides, it's best if the party has their own healer and isn't straight up melee/DD. That way the party can still function while I rest for MP, and in the long run probably gets better exp.

What irritates me is when players intentionally disconnect to get out of the party. I understand that they don't want to deal with the party members anymore, but when they "D/C", most parties end up waiting 15-25 mins for them to come back online, and then decide to look for reps.

Unfortanetly, I remember waiting 30 mins for the leader's friend to get back on, but he never did.

It may save the D/Cer some time by quickly leaving the party, but in doing so, it greatly wastes the other 5 players time.

Really, you think the THF meant to make the D. bodies drop off Kirin when we wanted Osodes and W. Legs? Do you think he meant to make PUP AF drop 600 times but no BLM or RDM? It's irritating. THF has no control over drops and yet they get so much shit from everyone about what does/doesn't drop.

You may think you're being funny/cute, but really when everyone and their sister does it "in jest" it gets a bit annoying. And I'm not even THF! But it's irritating. If the THF could make the good shit drop, he totally would, trust me.

Yes, SE, I know you don't want a landscape littered with treasure chests that only the party that dropped them can use, and that's why you have the 3 minute timer on them.

But sometimes things happen. Like Goblin aggro. And the little bastards can take almost 3 minutes to kill solo unless you're high enough level to be just farming.

So could you please reset the freaking timer when something is done with the chest? I just had a six-guess chest, and as I was about to start the second guess, Goblin Gambler comes around the corner. I go back to the chest, click on it, and get as far as telling it I want to enter a combination, when it vanishes.
