Are you trying to pull execution style? I would think you'd have a nice lead on the monster if you're using a ranged weapon.

The warrior should have been pulling. Jump pulling can claim quickly, but there's a delay before you can start moving again so you'll be taking hits the whole way back to camp. Some mages can pull, but others haven't had the experience. Was the warrior using the acid bolts while tanking?

Ever tried Jump pulling? Not only do you have to be close, but depending on how far it is back to camp can leave you low on health by the time you get there, possibly with some undead in tow because of the blood aggro. Pulling with Provoke is better, but still leaves you a little too close to the mobs on the long pulls than a ranged attack would.

General rule of thumb, Jump or Provoke pulling is fine if the mobs are right next to the camp, or close by. However it's sounding like it was a hot night in Qufim with lots of parties that evening, which means you have to range further afield to find mobs, so frankly I would have refused to Jump or Provoke pull as well.

The Smn can't Carby pull, because that takes even longer to summon an avatar and sic them on the mob than it does for you, the Cor, to shoot off a 600 delay gun. If the Smn has Carby out while running around looking for mobs then they are wasting MP for the most part. Also there is a good chance that the mob will kill Carby and go unclaimed on the way back to camp, letting some other party pull it away.

Ideally, Samurai shouldn't be pulling at those levels, I myself would never expect one that early on to pull. Later on, that's a different story. The Warrior I would expect to pull since he has a crossbow, but on the other hand he's tanking so I would not ask him to pull. And most longbows have a 480 delay I think, so 480 vs 600, yeah it's an improvement but not much of one.

Which leaves you to pull. Again, not ideal but you ARE the best option out of the six.

For the most part it looks like they're refusing to pull for the wrong reasons, but I would say their refusal to pull is the correct choice.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

Ive been puller AND tank many times on NIN, SAM, and WAR so being the tank isnt an excuse honestly. You want exp? Then break out of the mold and do something you normally dont do if needed.

I don't even know how it's an issue. You have a ranged attack? You pull. Pulling and tanking in Qufim of all places doesn't mean jack. You shouldn't even be getting hit on the way back if you have enough space between you and the mob. I've pulled and tanked with like no issues at all.

Get used to pulling on corsair. You have a ranged, you can pull. I had to do it a lot, even sometimes on ninja. If party members want to be sandy vaginas about you not pulling, then you can either:

            1) Leave party
            2) Make exp and pull

My main complaint as that the entire party was capable of pulling in some way:

                SAM: Longbows, voke
                WAR: Acid Bolts, voke
                DRG: Jump, voke
                SMN: Carby
COR: A 600 delay weapon that is always going to be outclaimed by the THFs and WARs running around pulling stuff
                BLM: Suicidal pulling with spells

Which out of those would you rather have pulling?

Honestly, the WAR or SAM should have been pulling without question. Your party was also full of idiots for asking a COR to pull when so many other jobs that make better pullers are available.

That doesn't make you less wrong about thinking a DRG can pull with Jump. Jump is hardly a ranged attack (barely more range than normal melee) and it has a long delay after you use it. If you're asking a DRG to Jump pull you might as well ask anyone in the party to pull by running up to mobs and claiming with auto-attack because it's effectively the same thing.

The 50's are apparently absolutely barren this week...I'm trying to not take lower Level Sync parties because 5 Great Axe skill per XP level is a lot to make up and I don't want to be that far back when I hit 60...so far I've gotten 4 invites since I hit 50, level sync invites at levels 12, 33, and 36...and this gem:

I'm only 54, not even high enough to use Rampage, this guy is a PLD who wears Scorpion Harness...and he's too good to invite me because I don't think a 1-handed 5-hit weaponskill on mobs you don't want to use Sushi on is worth my time.

I going to end up soloing to 75 at this rate just from skilling up Great Axe after each level.

Edit: After several hours of fortification beating, I get a level 50+ invite for the first time all day at 3:30am. When I'm just about to camp they tell me their d/c'd member is back and their party is full...

That RNG would most likely be the Taru from Firewind's party lolHP.

I have to admit that I have negative luck at being the puller on any and every job in the game. The worst one I remember...I once pulled a crawler as BLU in CN but the most unpozzible thing that i've ever seen happened...The Crawler was actually 2 Crawlers that rested inside of each other and made the "Exaxt" same movements so there was no way in the world to tell that they were 2 separate crawlers, we almost wiped. I was once in a party with 2x DD SAM70+ and neither brought their ranged equips, I was WAR70+ and I didn't bring mine either. The NIN stopped pulling/tanking and forced one of the SAMs to go get their ranged equips so he could pull. I don't blame the NIN for doing it, and I'm glad he did lol. I don't have a problem with being asked to pull, but I'm just not good at it at all lol.

I personally kinda like pulling sometimes. Mostly when I'm sure the party is full of idiots that will kill me. I will volunteer to pull when I know it's this type of party. That way I know that I can stop pulling when necessary, I can continue pulling when possible, and I can manage not to link shit.

So many times in this game, if I want it done right, I do it myself.

Add this to the Big List of Peeves. Monsters exactly inside another of the same type, and on the same animation phase. The only chance at telling them apart is with the tab key.

I saw this the other day in Saruta while leveling a lowbie job, but fortunately I saw them before they did their mating dance. The funny part is while I was waiting for them to split up, someone else came looking for a FoV kill and when they separated, we each went after one.

Ctrl-H or Alt-H will make you /heal regardless of what you have targeted (this works with both Compact and Full-Size keyboard layouts). I know the other keys are more convenient if that's what you're used to, but at least it's something.

Actually none of the keys are convienent. I use a PS2, and sit on a couch in front of a big TV. I avoid using the keyboard unless I'm in chat or in a battle serious enough that I'm typing spells into the command line.

And I know about the escape-first thing, but I still end up with my taru just standing there a couple of times a day.
