Re: What's your pet peeve in FFXI?
One of my pet peeves came back to the another forum recently. He's one of those "crusader" types who thinks he can see behind your character and see the real person when he's not even close to right. People who may have honestly been trying to help him out, but no, they're still evil and plotting against him somehow and must be exposed. They'll tell people one thing and then go off-forum to post bullshit about others on thier little blog that no one reads.
Basically, the guy just makes everything about him. That's what makes him both annoying and hilarious. He's too cool for Odin now because when he visited the server twice and "no one helped" him.
Funny, he didn't help anyone, either. FFXI isn't a game where people just drop everything they're doing and come out to help. If people do drop everything and help, show them some appreciation, but don't expect people to do Missions with you at the drop of a hat or anything. Some of us are grown-ups with limited amounts of time and we have things we wish to accomplish as well.
I tried to make that point to him recently, but no, I'm one of those people on his "list" and he instantly requested a thread lock. Sound advice is clearly the new evil.
