Been waiting 4-5 months for an Altruistic Cape, we'd only done Ix'DRK twice ever b/c he never pops for us...popped him twice in 2 days, both RR'd 9 times, both Deed'd me...now we have lots of trigs from him so we won't be doing it again for months. I know the second I give up and take it off my wishlist someone will jump on my spot and it will drop for them a week later, that happened with Astute Cape after I gave up on it after months.

After giving up there I headed to a Swift Belt run, which I've been waiting for 3 months to do. I get a free night to do something of that sort about once a month, and I really need the belt, so I went for it. The PLD was awful, never used a Cure higher than II, never used a JA other than Provoke, died 4 times on normal mobs and got 1-shotted by EES on the NM. We got to pop a whole 2 NMs in 4 hours. On our second NM pop, I win the random to use my trig and get drop, and all of a sudden the group decides that the /random system we agreed on for the first pop is unfair and that the PLD should get to pop his. He pops and dies to EES in 30 seconds, we do the fight without him, and of course it drops and he gets it. At this point I'm fairly certain it'd be faster to just make the 30m for a Speed Belt.

You're going to hate me when I say this, but I have an altruistic cape, and my red mage is only 47. >< I duoed it with a dark knight and it went pretty smooth. Things like ix'drk, ix'mnk, even ix'drg can be low manned. Don't necessarily need your linkshell to get it.

and swift belt can be done with a few good people. Last night, actually, I got the chance to tank something on my ninja on the Fomor Hume NM. It was me on ninja, mnk, blu, and whm. Went pretty smooth.

It's too bad you're not on Seraph. ;; I'd help you get these items.

I did VV yesterday with a rdm, whm (me), brd, and a nin/dnc. It was fun! Took us a while but... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! No ring but 5k gilz! So to some of you....I now have 7k gilz!!

Low manning things only makes you a better player. Granted, there's a much less margin for error, but if you do it right, it feels like an accomplishment. ^^

We did Ix'DRK with 3, we typically do MNK with 2, the only one we bring more for is the DRG because it's annoying. As far as the actual mob I could just solo the damn thing but I don't want to be stuck there for 24 hours if it doesn't stop RR'ing.

For the Swift Belt, the main issue is that myself, both my alt accounts, and almost all my friends are Elvaan. This was an issue last night as well, even though I had maxed hate we couldn't pop mine because the group we had would've wiped to the Elv...everyone who I can get to come help is Elv or Taru, and Grim Halo isn't a better alternative to the Elv. If I could pop the Hume I could probably just duo it with my 2 chars on BST and COR. :/

Ohh ;; Well that changes things. The tarutaru's a beast, I hear, and the elvaans aren't much better.

I kind of find it surprising that the paladin couldn't tank the hume, which is the easiest one of them all. He must have really really sucked. Like really sucked. And to think he's running around with a swift belt..../shudder

Yep. A Swift Belt that I won the /random for to boot. I feel fantastic about it. At any rate I'll hopefully get it next month when the moons align and I can get free time and a group for it.

Been trying to get my AF hat for WHM today. Managed to get some help but is kinda just went downhill from there. One was an LS friend who had to leave because of work which was fair enough. The rest of the help thought it would be hilarious to constantly pull Wraiths and get AoE enfeebs spammed on the party when I had no MP or pulling multiple bomb or Pots just to see what would happen. Then they thought it would be a great idea to teleport out the second that key was lotted on leaving me along in red HP among a whole lot of aggroing undead. Guess i'm lucky that WHMs have Reraise.

Of course this left me stuck and unable to get to my coffers. So I went though Garliage [S] and through the maw to get behind the 3rd banishing gate. Wind Spells + iceday = bad combination. died twice checking behind the gate and again checking near the one way stairs. The rules for sound aggro are pretty damn stupid. I had sneak fade when I was standing perfectly still yet every skeleton from Altepa to Fei'Yin instantly knew where I was and materialised on my location.

So I'm 2k exp down which admittedly is nothing bad. It's an hour of campaign battle at most. But I found out that my coffer chest has spawned behind the second banishing gate so there's no way I can get to it until someone opens it. Then I have to pray that it respawns behind the 3rd gate and stays there until the morning.

Sorry if my post seems rantish. Just needed to vent that's all. I'll be trying again tomorrow and hopefully I should have a bit more luck with this.

You actually can get behind the second quest if you do the Lycopodium quest in Garlaige (S). That's how I ended up getting mine for BLM.

EDIT: Peeve: People that insist on getting right up on you when they check you. You can check me from across the room. Why do you need to crowd me. I know it's a game and personal space means jackshit, but you wouldn't do it in RL, would you?

I'll have to try that out. Hopefully today more of my LS will be on so I won't have to rely on a pickup group and a lone LS volunteer with very limited time for help. And speaking of the lost exp. I made it back, dinged WHM55 and MPK'd a bunch of AFK's/Bots hammering forts in campaign battle so it's all good.

Just a couple small things I've picked up this last week lvling WHM. WAR in the jungles with lvl 17 armor, he was lvl 29. Please upgrade your armor. He died like 3 times in that party because of this, but he did eventually lvl up.

If there are two mages (whm, rdm) in a party, pay attention who's casting what for buffs and enfeebles. In party last night as whm with a rdm as the other mage. I swear everytime I would cast regen on someone, two seconds later he'd cast it on the same person. If I casted dia and paralyze, he'd do the same soon after. It was really annoying to see someone doing this I mean comeon pay attention to the chat log.

This is depressing, my lots are so bad that it's becoming a joke in the LS.

Everyone knows that I don't ever take home organs from Sea because I can't lot over 200 for them. Like ever. Even when farming 2-boxed I lot 120, lol. Last night we did some tier 3 ZNMs, both dropped grips I needed. My 2 lots for both totalled 8. Fucking 8! 2 for the Light Grip and 6 for the Dark Grip. Luckily we only allow members to freelot 1 drop from each NM, and all the other mages wanted the Ice Grip and not the Dark Grip from Khromasoul, so despite my lot(fucking 6!!!) I still walked with the Dark Grip for Drain/Aspir/Absorb/Sleep.

Well an explanation for this could be that someone is trying to skill up whatever skill. Of course, if MP is tight you don't do this. But if the mp is fine then casting little low MP spells like Regen, Dia or Para to skill up is ok.

I have both Rdm and Whm leveled and from a Rdm's perspective........why are you trying to outcast the Rdm on enfeebles? Thats the Rdm's job so getting angry cause he 's doing his job is a bit silly.
