I've learned, those people wouldn't give jack about the seacom. Cause they pretty much ignore it until after they sent a tell >_>
      edit:
Its why I want a better search function, just to tell those people off and not to bug me in tells.

Indeed... especially when I'm on DRG/WHM trying to solo while my flag is up. Almost every time I get the same damn tell.

        >> tnl? and do you have war sub?

/em looks at seacom comment about TNL and list of available subs, among other useful misc. info.

Back when I was leveling samurai, I can't tell you the number of gimp ninjas and paladins that couldn't keep hate to save their lives. One party I was in had a ranger, and just about every fight was the mob chasing the ranger, the ninja provoking the mob.....because that was all he had, and the melees chasing after the mob.

Definitely not the most fun I've had.
oh i had great experience with this..
i was a thief i was doing most damage in the party keeping better hate than the pld and tanking better than him too it was quiet sad if i say so and the thing is i didnt even have the best 1337 armor i had ok armor and no shadows.

i still get on here....even though it might not happen often i do!

I can go one better than that Akashimo. The following exchange happened when i was trying to get a WHM to rep me after I had to leave the party due to it being 4am:

Me: [Insert generic party invite line here]
Rep WHM: Ok, I'll be there soon
Me: ok, leader's name is [leader's name here]
Rep WHM: Wait a 2 WHM party? You guys suck
Me: No I'm leaving, you're going to be my rep
Rep WHM: Oh, right. Where is it again?
            Me: Basement Garliage Citadel
            Rep WHM: Where is that?
            Rep WHM: Never been there...
            Me: *explains where it is*
            Rep WHM: Oh okay
*pause of at least half an hour to wait for this WHM to turn up*
Rep WHM: Ok I'm here <Invite to join party>
Rep: WHM: <Invite to join party>
Rep: WHM: <Invite to join party>
Rep: WHM: <Invite to join party>
            me: I'm not leader!
Rep: WHM: <Invite to join party>
Rep: WHM: <Invite to join party>

I got a new one last night.
r-tard leader apparently changed to thf/nin, had no ranged attack to pull, invited me (me thf/war) to replace a brd who d/c, and forgets to tell me to 1) change sub cause he wants me to pull and 2) didn't tell me I was going to pull. Then the healer of our 'merit' party dinged 66 -_- WTFH!!! omg... me and my ls mate war friend were both pissed/annoyed in ls, and we agreed if any of us died, we both leave.
Then she died from a link, rdm couldn't land sleep on the mamool the r-tard pulled(this was at colibri), and we spent 2 mins trying to pick which to kill and which to sleep. That cause my war friend and the rng to die.
In tells after we told the lead in tells we were gonna leave, she bets that he's gonna disband and I go, "naw he's too retarded to say something that smart," in party he goes, "WAR and THF your reps are on the way if you want to leave now" so we bailed out in less than a second.
Uhg. Idk whats worse, fact of the ding 66, the fact the lead was a mnk that changed to thf, or the fact, he was too stupid not to have a ranged weapon of somesort. /end rant.

                I lol'ed.

I feel your pain Aka I really do, but that's still really funny. You will look back on this an laugh someday.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the game should auto-force /anon OFF if you join a party.

I always heckle the /anon member when we're in a PT, especially if they're a melee class because (1) it usually means they have a gimped subjob and (2) no melee on earth needs to go /anon for any other reason unless you're a THF who is ritually bugged to help with drops.

I usually like to have /anon on but when I'm in a party I figure there's no point, I'm generally not going to be bugged for invites when I'm already in a party.

I've never really /anon-ed as BRD or COR and I get random PT invites even when I'm clearly in a PT or have been for quite some time -.-

It doesn't bother me that I get unsolicited invites, I just show how rude I find them by ignoring them entirely.

And going /anon wouldn't really help me in any case, everyone knows I'm COR on Kitten. I'm fortunate that most people on Odin are oblivious that Foobar has a BRD, he's generally known as a SCH and BST. To ensure it stays that way, that's where all the merits are going and why I'm levelling RDM to compliment it. Then BRD can come out of hiding and I can laugh as some melee who levelled the job gets told to come BRD and I'm asked to come RDM or SCH.

I had this WAR/NIN as my 1st provoke in a party of mine in Quicksand Caves.

I faithfully relied on him saying so, because he was /anon.

After his refusal to take it off when I politely asked him to do so, something created Hidden Effect: Boot.

Heh, must've been something he equipped at the time! :/ *shrug*

We're not allowed to have /anon on during Dynamis. When I first joined the shell and they told me to take it off as we were making parties, I had no issue with that. People didn't know me and they didn't know my job. But after I got in a party and put it back on, they were like ... "/anon off." and I'm like ... "Why." and it's just their rule. Kinda stupid, imo. Seriously, what does it matter once we've entered the zone?

I think the reason for that is just for the ease of reforming PTs as needed during the event, though it does come coupled with the annoying habit of people calling you by your job and not your name. Its all well and good if the job is the trifling detail you have to sort through, but goddamn, if you expect me to take you seriously as a leader or sackholder, learn my name, ficticious though it may be.

Forcing anon off when you're in a party isn't what's needed, the ability to "whitelist" who can see you when you're anon is.

                              Basically, have four settings:

1- Individual. Works the same as the blacklist; you add individuals to this list and the server will allow them to see your information.
2- Party. Have this be able to be toggled on or off. If on, anyone in your party would be able to see your information, regardless of whether or not they're on your individual whitelist.
3- Linkshell. Same as party, except for everyone in your linkshell.
4- All. Basically, the same Anon On/Off toggle we have.

This same whitelist system would also work well for Blockaid, and Away (or whatever it is that allows you to ignore tells.)
                              ______________________________
Actually, it could even be useful for some "party only" spells, mainly D2. Allowing some people outside your party to cast it could save annoyances.

Or make D2 tag all the more entertaining, since you would be unable to check your map.

I have no experience at all in Dynamis yet (/cry), but it sounds silly when you'd know a group for <insert months, years> running and they still force it on you like it's a pickup event o.o

It's these oblivious retards that somehow create their own unique world of logic that allows them to go /anon in a group with 5 other strangers that makes mah brayne asplode.

...I just spent 2 hours putting this group together, put him/her in, and now I'm going to do my very best to keep it running for another 4.

This person can't simply suffer a few annoying /tells in return? That would be my circle of thought for an RDM, BRD, COR, or some /tell-magnet like that.

But when the player's a fuckin' WAR/NIN playing the convenience card when we're burning time keeping a party, I flat out don't care what you do after THIS: *boot + /blist*

...Not saying that it'd affect the party in any way XD (unless this person's hiding a gimp sub), but it just annoys me THAT MUCH in a situation like a pickup exp party.

                                *sigh*

EDIT: Feba's system would end my suffering m(_)m
