This is going to sound weird, maybe, but my biggest pet peeve right now is me. (No jokes, or at least, no bad ones.)

I have party-phobia.

Seriously. I can count on one hand the number of parties I've been in since last summer. To be fair, I spent a fair part of that time not playing for one reason or another, but still. It's not from lack of invites. I get them all the time. I usually seek as I solo. But few of the invites I get sound like a good idea to me. But maybe I'm just dragging my feet.

Whatever it is, it's keeping me from socializing in this game, which is unfortunate. I got three party invites tonight. Granted, one was from a 23RDM/7WAR who was alone in the dunes, but the other two seemed perfectly reasonable. But I was doing ok soloing, and I worry about my ability to party after so much time out of them. But that's probably me being silly.

Anyway, it sucks. And I suck.

I hate parties. I would solo anything I could to avoid them. Then we started up a static for my DRG and I'm having a blast. I just think I don't like parties where I know no one- and since most of the people I know are endgame, and I'm not (yet) it's hard to find parties with peeps I know.

Once you're in parties again it comes back quick. :x

I totally understand Murphie. I am leveling yet another character and having almost the same issue. I leveled my rdm to 11 and decided to seek in the Dunes. Well parties are few and hard to come by so I asked my husband to p/l while I was seeking. Well I ended up getting to sub job level without a single party invite. Then I decided to level up whm AND blm for subs. Repeat the above process. I did get into 2 parties between all of those jobs but they lasted minutes because they were so bad. Now I actually get nervous about partying. I get this feeling of impending doom. What if...what if.... My husband is getting sick of p/l'ing so I usually wait till he's in bed and 2 box.

I logged on tonight and my husband said NO, so I just got my butt out to Quifm and was going to log out until he got into bed. Then I got an invite. I paniced and then I laughed at myself. My husband saw the invite and started nagging me about how he's not p/l'ing me forever and to accept the damn invite. So I did................and my fears became true.

Five people in the party, drg, brd leader (who was anon but his search invite said only if the drg was invited), thf, pup, and me (rdm). Now I thought the anon brd was the tank....silly me. As soon as I got to the top of the tunnel, they attacked a worm. I got off 2 debuffs before I was curing the drg like a mad woman. After that I had 80mp left and they attacked the next worm. About this time I was able to figure out the anon person was a brd....who wasn't singing any songs. The 2nd worm was right by the open area during night. I didn't have enough mp to keep people out of the red and soon we had a wight. In the end, 3 people were wiped out. While we were getting raises, the leader got a war....finally a tank, too bad he was an idiot. He wanted to fight with 2 dead people in the pt and a weak rdm. Oooook. Then one of the people who was dead got a raise but he was in the tunnel past a Dancing Weapon so the War wanted to kill the weapon. I was on my way to sneak the person but the big bad war wanted to kill the Incredibly Tough weapon with 3 weak people in the party. A 75 whm came along and cast dia on the weapon at the same time the war provoked so neither got enough hate on it to have claim and then our war attacked the weapon. Thank god the whm quickly got the hate and claim. Then after everyone was fine, he went running out into the open area saying "Follow me, I'll show you!" and started attacking another worm. I carefully tried to get to him but just as I did, I saw him getting aggro from a giant to which he said "Um...I hope you have that thing charmed." Charmed.....there was no f'in bst in the damn party! And at this point.../shutdown {Good night!}

I went from 21-23 soloing tonight on PLD, so not the end of the world, but it will slow down later. I took WAR to 40, DRK to 37, BLU to 40, and numerous jobs to 30 in the past year, so I'm used to it, but man, I really need to find some good friends to play with. Or some good players who could become friends, or something.

Haha, I just got kicked out of a party because I made fun of the CORs that level the job by going /WHM using level 22 bullets to 75. One of the party members is someone who leveled COR like that, I told him that it's an incredibly lame way to level the job. His friend was the party leader and after saying he had 6 members on the way, he all of a sudden says 'I can't find anyone I'm disbanding.' and kicks me...yet he's still a party leader and they're still on the same jobs.

I'm not sure which is the greater peeve here, the people that gimp the shit out of COR, the people that take huge offense to being called a gimp when they are, or the people that can't just man the fuck up and say I'm kicking you from the party.

I was in a Greater Colibri party two weeks ago with a BRD and COR in party. COR/WHM, and BRD/NIN, with myself as RDM/WHM.

I was incredibly lucky the COR was using /WHM.

The moron BRD brought back three Colibrsi on first pull, and only barely managed to do better for the rest of the party. Oh, and he missed EVERY SINGLE LULLABY.

I ended up sleeping the pulls. COR was waking me up and tossing out Curagas to cure people. (He's WHM75, too.)

For smartly using /WHM alone, that COR earned his keep. Couldn't have cared if he was using bullets or not, much less which bullets. x_x; His /WHM was what made that merit party work... (Gave him part time Refresh. ._. )

Did I mention the BRD used Hord Lullaby a few times, too? Yes, on Greater Colibri. Oh, and I had to tell the BRD to quit giving me both Ballad because he was pulling so slowly. Was really tempted to tell him to stop ballad all together; definitely should've told him to stop singing his useless Lullaby.

My pet peeve right now is leveling Whm.

I build a party, party disbands because there is no PL. I build another party and someone drags a PL out for us. Party disbands around me and they invite some other DD because there is no point in having a Whm in the same party that has a PL.

And then they ask me for raises and expect me to help them with aggro problems because they were stupid and camped where they shouldn't have been. Yeah, lemme think about that one.....


Next pet peeve, people expecting you to drop everything and help no matter what.

I was soloing in Qufim as Blu/whm. I can handle the worms so long as they don't silence me. Lo and behold one Silences me, so I have to disengage and back off to wait for Silence to wear off. A level 16 Warrior, not in a party mind you, Provokes the mob as soon as the worm becomes unclaimed. 1st hit from the worm takes off almost a third of the Warrior's hp, and instantly he calls for help, and stands there still wacking away on it. I tell him to just run, and he keeps /shouting "we can take it!" and, "omg halp!" Keep in mind, the worm is at 1/2 health, and I'm still Silenced so I can't even think about taking on the worm at this point. A Mnk/dnc shows up and helps him out, so all is good (for now)

Later, someone, and I'm not sure if it was the Mnk/dnc or the War, shows up with a Ghoul that they had called for help on. I can barely handle those with full mp and being all prepped, they came up to me when I had about 13mp and I was fairly low on hp, maybe about 1/3-/12hp. and I was just starting to kneel down. I tell them that I am out of mp, and that I'll help once I have more, however they are going down fast, so what do they do? Drag the Ghoul over to where I am resting and proceed to fight it on top of me.

Now I'm normally more than happy to help people, but when I'm out of mp, and I badly need that mp before I can consider attacking a Ghoul, there isn't anything that I can do for you until I do regain that mp. If I attack now, we all die, if I wait for mp and then attack, maybe one of you dies. But when you drag the mob on top of me like that while I'm trying to rest in order to help? Do you really expect me to help you after that?

I've been trying to buy a War Sword all week. Someone bought two of them the other day for 45k, and now there are two up on the AH. But I can't buy one for even as much as 65k. Frustrating. Then I did some looking around and saw that the person who bought them (and is likely now selling them) had some gibberish name. And on other servers (according to FFXIAH.com) gibberish name sellers have been jacking the price up to 70k or higher. I want a War Sword, but not that badly. Oh well.

Seeing as how I'm going through the dunes, obligatory gripes:

level 15 thf/nin with an aspir knife, a 600 delay gun (pirates gun I think it was called) and level 1 bullets. I actually booted this guy, felt bad about it but jesus what the hell was he going to do other than leech

People under 20 who /nin, the thf wasn't the only one I saw. I can just about accept that there is some vague point to /nin once you hit 20, sort of, but 14-20 and /nin is just retarded

sam who get whiny when asked to pull so that the tanking war (i.e me) or tanking nin (i.e me) ends up doing it.

Being in a party with sam and other war and yet being the only person with any form of ranged attack

Back seat driver party members. Yes I know there is a warrior seeking, he's the one I just told you is on the way to join us.

People who harass you for party invites. I know parties are scarce at this level but I understand how to use the search function and if we need you, you will get an invite. One level 17 rdm kept spamming 'please {invisible} me, I'm a level 17 rdm {do you need it?}' and followed my party for over an hour before she gave up.
