Meh. If it makes you feel any better you would have lost the lot by 50 points anyway.

Wish it did lol, but it's been established for months that first hat is mine, the only thing keeping me from it is getting into Xarc and having it drop, obviously the latter can't happen without the former.

Well good luck with getting the hat! I hope you have better luck than I do....or my husband. I've been doing Dynamis for.......oh lord.....3 yearsish?? I've seen 3 hats drop. First hat went to someone that quit FFXI 2 weeks later. <insert sick to your stomach feeling here> Second hat should have went to my husband but the leader gave it to a brown noser that 'collects' hats. He didn't play rdm anymore, he just wanted it for epeen. He sold his character shortly after that. <insert gagging into wastebasket here> The third hat dropped just a couple months ago in our current ls. The person that was allowed to lot it announced right after that he would not be playing rdm anymore. He's now the thf. My husband was told that it was between my husband and this person to get the next hat. The other person had not been to events for 2+ months because he had to watch his child....every minute of every day except Xarc runs for some strange reason. But he got to lot it and then retire his rdm. <insert vomiting uncontrollably here>

I'm done with drops. It's never done fairly and brown nosers/a** kissers/butt buddies/etc always end up screwing the good players. The players that do what they are told, come faithfully to events, don't b***h if they eat R1's, pay attention and do their jobs well, etc get taken for granted because they aren't running around sucking up to the sacs/leader every minute they are in game. So ya, I'd consider this a peeve of mine. LOL

I don't even care about the hat anymore. If I get it, great, but I really hardly ever touch RDM anymore so I'd feel kinda bad taking it.

Although in my new LS I'm behind like 6 people for it anyway, so it hardly matters.

I agree to a point, but it's hard for me to say that since I am a sackholder, though that is not the reason why it's going to me. We're sure that it's going to raise a fuss at some point when others aren't allowed to lot if it drops, and really there's no way to put it aside from it's that way because we said so, though I have fully earned it. My LS has 2 RDMs who are sitting at 4/5 needing Xarc, the other actually has seniority over me though he has conceded first drop to me. For my first 5~ months in the shell we only had 2 RDMs total, and I was the only one who was all-out RDM main, I didn't even get a chance to use my BRD or COR at any events in that span, I was the RDM for a good long time. Of the other 2 RDMs who would be in the picture, one is a very good, faithful RDM who we have gotten 2 pieces of AF2 so far, though he hasn't been around nearly as long as me, and the other is one of those guys who has 7 75's and wants to be first in line for everything on all those jobs, and despite the fact that they only make 2~ events a week and have only been in the LS for 2 months will surely feel they should be able to lot against me.

Aside from that, our Dynamis was a huge mess when I first started coming to them. I didn't want to have anything to do with leading Dynamis really, but it was so disheartening watching how people were botching so many things that I eventually snapped and started shaping people up and getting it nice and organized. I researched and wrote all of our Dynamis strategies myself(I know the info is all over but I made them very specific to our LS), I've missed 2 runs in 8 months due to Mother's Day and a RL date night w/ my G/F when she got back in town after being gone for 2 weeks, and outside of Dynamis I'd say I've missed roughly 4 events total in that span, though I've gotten nothing out of Dynamis outside of a freelot BRD body...as the LS leader put it last night, if this was a points shell I'd easily have twice as many points as any other member, so the hat has been earned by hard work, not just because I'm 2nd in command.

Still it's been a big concern that either A) the LS is going to go into a huge drama fit when RDM or PLD drop(PLD is our only other Xarc drop where the first one is spoken for), or B) as I traditionally have some of the most horrendous lotting luck you've ever seen, I'm going to lot under 200 and someone is going to ninja it. I'm equally nervous and excited now that we've finally gotten ourselves able to attempt it, lol.

I don't have a problem with someone getting it that deserves it AND is going to use it but the incidents I stated seriously made me sick. My husband comes to 99% of events on rdm and his other 75 job is mnk. He isn't even interested in leveling another job to 75 and loves rdm so he doesn't mind coming on that most of the time. He faithfully attends events too(though we've missed a few lately cause of a change in my daughters schedule). To give a piece of equipment, that can benefit the ls by the user having it for events, to someone that retires the job or quits the game is asinine. In all of the cases with the hat, it was given to some brown noser. For me, equips should go to people who will use them and it benefits the ls. Isn't that the entire point of getting people uber equips, so that it improves your ls and helps with the things you can do? From what I've seen, I guess not and I like the color of my nose just fine. lol

If someone ninja lots you need to D2 them and take away points, that'll teach them.

Isn't the whole point of ninja lotting that you have that little cheat that tells you when stuff is going to lot out and then you lot an item with only seconds left??.....like a ninja?? LOL

Yep it happened in our ls once and over a stupid Osode. Guy ninja lots it like 10 seconds before it dropped. Best thing was................he lots a 97. LOL Couldn't even ninja lot it right.

Well that's true, but I never would have thought someone would actually sit there and count the timer down so they could ninja lot on someone. That's just about as low as it goes.

This is why I suppose the idea of a 'winner ticket' system. Kinda like Arch Angels-- you go in as a group, you fight, you get a key item, and you can get rewards yourself later. This would be especially good for BCNMs-- give a special ticket to the winner who used the orb, but also give tickets to the other players as a way of saying "yo, thanks for coming" without having to worry about splitting profits. Tickets could be redeemed in any number of ways-- trade in a single ticket to get a random grab bag; trade in multiple tickets to increase your chances of getting better, more valuable items (think SSBM lottery); trade in a specific number of tickets to get a specific item (for example, you have five 99KSNM tickets, you can trade it in for a specific black belt item, instead of the drop being random; or you can try your luck in the lottery), and so on. So many possibilities, and such an improvement in fairness. The only thing where an item reward should be the drop in something that is clearly meant for groups (BCs, Dyna, etc.) should be when they're clearly only intended for one person; like AF (although I'm pretty sure none of that goes in a loot pool) and similar quests.

What about for those rare/ex weapons people camp the bcnm areas just to get invited to lot for them? You know, like destroyers?

People would have to earn them by fighting (at the very least, being IN the BCNM, if not actually contributing) instead of just waiting around for someone to give them a set they don't need.
