Ok. I know that there are certain gears and weapons that you need to change during a battle to enhace some atributes, even I have to change often, but GOD!! as a rdm aka "main-healer-refresher-haster B" it drives me crazy when you have to target a member, whos HP is already red, a zillion times in order to cast cure on him/her.

Yesterday I targeted a guy 6 times, that was "SIX" times, to heal him, and when I got it he was already on 7HP. He was very lucky.

Please, if you are dying, give us a chance to help you, but if you die, then dont blame the rdm.

FFXI should come with a user manual.

I mean like, not a basic game guide, but a technical manual. There are so many 'problems' that have existing solutions that most people don't know about.

O.k, pride to the wind, can someone please help me out with this (you can shout noob after if you want). I've been reading around about this targeting issue for a week or so and not found a way of doing a cure macro with <lastst> that works.

I'm using <stpc> and a lot of keyboard shortcuts at the moment and I don't lose target because of gear swap blinking often but it does happen and I would really like to get rid of it.

I went trawling on forums and found people using
/ta <stpc>
/ma "Cure" <lastst>

with the idea being that the top line gives you a cursor that doesn't flick off someone who blinks because of a gear swap but when a friend and I went to test it out it failed miserably. I haven't been in game long enough to try it out but the only thing I can think of is that perhaps a target other than <stpc> in the /ta line will fix this problem or am I missing something different and probably really basic?

A technical manual for this kind of thing would be really nice ><
