Nunyunuwi and his 100HP per tick regen. I had the punk down to less then 10% twice when I ran out of MP.

I have a decent defense/enmity set. I have a passable DD set (20% of party's direct damage output in last party, 15% in the one before). I bring consumables (oil/powder/echo drops/Dorado Sushi/Tavnazian Taco/RR items--yes, more than one RR/etc.). Heck, I even have hMP gear, though v-cloak is still beyond my reach. I try my best to tank well. I have /WHM, /BLU, /NIN, etc. if a party doesn't want me to tank.

Just let me get my PLD73 to Lv.75 and capped exp. >_<

Four hours of seeking last night, interrupted by only a /tell from a random person who wanted a Raise two zones away. Two hours of seeking the night before. Three hours or so the night before that. More of the same, previously few nights... Zero party. Nada.

I don't bite~ I'm not evil, I swear... Even raised the two-zones-away random person's friend--didn't charge them chocobo fee, either.

You know, I don't see why Paladins don't make awesome damage-dealers. Three A Weapon Skills, one of which is two-handed, as well as a B in another awesome two-handed weapon, and this is all not even mentioning the third-highest Strength in the game! The crappy Agility shouldn't have an effect on anything but Evasion and Ranged Accuracy, right? And, to my knowledge, the number of Paladins that use a bow is less even than the number of Red Mages that do so.

They used to work as soon as the compass popped up. But now they don't work until the Moogle shows up. That's a whole two seconds I'm just sitting there not getting my stuff.

I think its because most people see PLD as teh tank. Most PLD's gear for DEF VIT and Enimty. How ever PLD can use some of the better melee based DD gear IIRC, thus it should be able to rocket its number up pretty high if it geared for it. It would take alot of convincing to have them invited as a DD to a party, since the community dosent see them as such. (kinda like a RDM). I dont doubt that a full out balls to the wall DD geared PLD would be able to put up good numbers (especially with GS).

ITAZ, have you tried /sam with a GS, or even /DRK. We have a GS PLD/SAM in our sky shell, who puts out some pretty decent WS damage and the 2H delay reduction helps him out as well.

Also Ive heard that PLD/DRK can make great us of LR/SE due to its natively high DEF it can withstand the barrage of attacks bound to come its way. Also with the ability to cure itself, it wont put much stress on the MP pool of the healer. Just some ideas for you to give a whirl with. I know its tough I havent had a PLD in my party in a week, its all nin/nin. But I invite them when I see 'em. Good Luck to ya.

It's because we only have a tiny amount of tanks in this game compared to the number of damage dealers, and most PLD don't gear for DD until meripo.

Most PLD are happy being the tank anyway.

No native DD job trait or ability.

Weapon wise, there aren't great DD one-handed swords until 50 or 60-ish, I think. The highest damage potential WS, Vorpal Blade, is notoriously flaky in consistency. For other weapons, I've heard only WHM get the good DD clubs. Two-handed sword and staff selection probably aren't so great, either.

A well geared PLD can output decent damage, but I found it hard to go full out DD before Lv.70 as a tank. Even then, I spent a great deal of time casting Cure. If I match any DD in party with damage output, I'd consider that person a bad player.

Doing Nyzule isle atm, and one of our restrictions happened to be no Ninjutsu, of course everyone who was /nin didnt have oils/powders... so we ended up wasting that tag....

Hmm. Things about FFXI that make me angry and face stabby?
Stupid people. Specifically, people who put too much value in having a 75 job.
It takes a trained monkey to get to 75.
It takes a lot more work to actually master a job.

Other things?

Stupid people. Thats a peeve of mine.
If you act stupidly chances are you wont be a friend of mine.
Another thing... People who type poorly, a large percent of the population on Hades.
Typing like: "u suck at ur job. go die plz" Drives me nuts.
An attempt at spelling correctly or punctuating is better than that though.
Something like: "You need too learn how too play."
