I'm surprised the warrior would even be supposed to tank. With a samurai and ranger in your party, it looks more like a TP burn setup and whatever you were fighting would go down quick. he sounds to be whining over nothing.

Pretty much. Mainly only had him "tank" per se because he had voke, so if me or the RDM pulled hate he could swipe it back.

560 days playtime and run ls for 4 years of that... where to begin...

1) first days for game in USA was Japanese people who would not talk to me or invite to partys, that has change over the years thank you sirs

2) 3 years ago all the people saying that 360 beta server was so much better, hehe no comment for that one

3) 2 years ago COP and all that you could not do with it cause you die and die and die in promy evil, thank you SE for making that expansion easier now

4) last year people changing servers and not a word when they left

Yeps "pet peeve"s through the years but bottom line still the only MMO for a Final Fantasy fan to hang with all the others Chocobo, Airship and mog lovers of the world. That being said....

Number 1 pet peeve on game is disrespect from all the new gamers who come and do not have to acknowledge the Lords and Ladies of Vana'diel who made this game what it is today.

Still annoyed with Vista and the random game crashes. I've had 7 of them today while attempting to farm. DAMN IT VISTA I WANNA MAKE GIL.

Been updating drivers all day to fix the problem and nothing is working. Nothing more frustrating than not being able to play the damn game because of bullshit software issues.

Actually, the people I've met that claim to be the youngest (8 to 10) have, on average (which isn't too good since there's so few of them) been much better at the game and nicer than most people that claim to be in their 20s or 30s.

While I'd normally agree, Feba, your evidence is shaky at best, since it relies on the claims of people you don't know. Anybody who was actually that young would have been told a thousand times over to not reveal their age. Who's to say those "kids" weren't just adults pretending?

On the flipside, possibly because kids aren't told to reveal their age, they choose to instead lie and pick an age much older than their own.

Needless to say, your anecdotes are biased, at best.

ym: usually because I knew them better than that. It's not worth getting into details, but there's a reason I believe most of them, apart from the fact that they have no reason to lie. There's also the assumption on your part that kids always follow safety 'rules' online, which is far from the truth. Hell, I one got a thing in school that strongly implied that anyone that wanted to meet you in real life was a predator. The words were something along the lines of "Why would someone who's never met you want to see you?", followed by a very threatening talk about their motives that I can't remember very well right now. It's not at all surprising that with blatant propaganda and scare tactics that even a young kid knows aren't true that they'd just filter it out.

As for the older ones, yes, I realize that, but then you wouldn't be saying kids playing the game, would you?

This is just to add to the kids talk from up above. Only based on my exp running large ls and yeps you hit a sore spot with me on this game and huge amounts of time lost.


Over the years I have had lot of families in the ls and there kids with them. Youngiest was twin brothers age 8 and they where to funny as players. I even wrote into my ls rules at the time there was to be no giving out of age on our chat. OMG, there has been more fights over that rule then you can imagine. Add me to the list of pet peev of young kids (under 12) that do not have any online smarts and I blame that on the parents. This is only MMO I ever play but these kids on here for the most play good but are totally nuts on who they say there age or even where they live to. I have to add to that I have had a lot of one on one "arguements" with kids from 10 to 14. I dont fight with kids that age in r/l and do not like to pay for it each month on FFXI, mostly I blacklist the one's who run wild out there now sorry to say.

Final note over the 4 years, 3 of the kids on my ls got yanked from game by parents cause of "sexual" advancements to them. So pet peeve and I am sure I will get feed back is kids under 13 playing with no parents watching.

(btw this was written by a loving uncle with young nephew playing game so dont take my words as being mean please)

I'm posted a while back stating my younger sister "11yrs" played the game. It wasnt until Feba pointed out that I realised it was against the tos. She's now hooked on her wii. lol

Our Linkshell on Remora Cosmic enigma is for adults only 18+ before we implemented this change we had people of various ages amongst us. The reason we have the age limit is to protect minors from things which may be seen in ls chat, granted we arent perverts but many of us are parents and censor ourselves all day the linkshell is where we cut loose. We dont exclude younger players at all we help everybody and if they are too young to recieve a CE pearl then they get a CE junior one instead.

I for one would feel terrible if some kid got the game took off them for something that was said in jest because a parent saw it. Thats why we chose to protect the innocent.

the youngest player I met was aged 10/11 not too sure, but he was the nicest little Taru I ever duoed with and he played bst far better than me.
