I think it's been said before, maybe even by me, but, if you want me to be in a party don't send me tells like this:
>>> {party}
This may seem kind of shallow of me to complain about, partying is partying, but at least give me a {Do you need it?} to go with it.
Heck, even just a question mark helps. That proves that you recognize that you're offering an option to the person, not making a demand of them. You're not entitled to partying with me. You are not necessarily doing me a favor by letting me into your party. Therefore, use proper etiquette, and don't get all pissy if I point out that you've broken it.
Seriously, I can't recall ever getting an "oh sorry" when I point out an etiquette breach except maybe at dunes levels. It's always a "HOW DARE U TELL ME HOW 2 PLAY U DONT PAY MY FEE!!!" sort of reaction instead. Yeesh, people, do you also expect people to buy you a week's groceries before you ever say please and thank you to them? -- Pteryx
D/Cing in the middle of Campaign battle and coming back dead. Not so much that I d/c'ed that pisses me off (though this Vista "PlayOnline Viewer has stopped working" shit is getting REALLY old), but that I was soloing the freaking mob just fine until my computer decided it didn't want me to play anymore. >.<

I haven't yet bought the expansion, though I have been considering it as of late. Is this a common thing among PC users or is this a fairly isolated incident?

It depends on your connection and your computer.
On my brain dead ISP, I experience on average of one connection lost every night, but there can be a week of trouble free joy followed by a day of very frequently connection lost.
So, what are the odds that hits during Campaign Battle? Not that high, actually; most Battles begin and conclude without disruption for me.
Yet, even though I rarely lose the Net for more than a few minutes (usually under one minute) at a time, with the way it works, if you lose connection, you lose all points accumulated so far, so d/c'ing is a pretty sad affair during Campaign Battle.
It's not something S-E or I can control, and the trouble it causes isn't limited to Campaign Battle.

Good deal. I'll have to go ahead and get the pack then. For some strange reason (such as skimming and not actually reading...) I was thinking that it might have been an incompatibility issue somehow.
I'm pretty broke at the moment(down to 25k, I dropped about 170k helping to push my g/f and lsmates through Promyvions this past weekend), so I went up to Sky for my normal gem farming with a buddy. When I zone into Sky, I see a few members of a certain linkshell on Ramuh, every server has them, but it's the "we bot, it's endgame and everyone bots" shell, except this specific one always, always, without fail, goes out of their way to be as rude as humanly possible to everyone in everything they do.
I saw it coming as soon as I see the message of one of them going through my bazaar(didn't see the /c since I have their entire LS blisted). They're doing Despot so I figure I have some time, we go and find Zipacna. I catch a bad break a few seconds after the first pull, wipe, get back up and recover. Make the 2nd pull, this time things go much smoother. Our basic strategy is I do the standard RDM DoT solo, while my friend pops a SA/CA Cannonball every few minutes then zones his hate.
We're doing very well, we have it at 30%, douchebags are going out of their way to stand in the middle of the hallway so that I have a hard time running through, but we're fine. My partner pops his Cannonball and heads for the top of the stairs, I start casting Bind. He zones...but Bind doesn't land, instead Stun does. And Zip is purple, not red. Absolutely fucking instantly. It never even went yellow, just red to purple.
Now I don't work for S-E, but unless my understanding of game mechanics is completely fucking wrong, there is absolutely no fucking possible way they did that legitimately. I never zoned, and I was casting on the target constantly, there is no way I would have lost claim, not to mention I had 15 minutes worth of hate built up, and there is no fucking possibility that a single Stun would have taken claim instantly. So they nearly die but finish it off, make a few smart ass comments because they couldn't do anything without being the tough guys on the internet, and leave.
Surprisingly enough my GM call was returned within an hour at least, I doubt anything will come of it, but seriously all QQing aside, that shit just isn't possible. I'm not sure what the fuck it was but it certainly was not skill or luck.
And now I'm still stuck with 25k gil, I can't afford Limbus tonight, and I get to instead spend tonight doing the farming I should have been done with already.

I've met the worst FFXI player 3 times doing CoP recently. He's been known as a craptastic player by everyone I know once I bring up his name! Everyone! even the guys I haven’t spoken to in 3 years. I’ll leave him nameless for now. Next time he decides to flaunt the millions of gil he buys in front of me that will quickly change though!
Me and my friend who are setting finally decide that when he’s offline our CoP luck goes up (and it does) and as we progress along we get to 6.4... Airship fun.
We're about 0/5 now. We managed to get to ultima last time and got him to 28%. If only the BLM wasn't quite so... useless and brought a polymer we would have won. The entire fight we were pretty much @5
So I guess my recent pet peeve is unprepared "i cant afford it but i wont tell you till after" people, SE for making a mission where you almost certainly need a whm and The Spanish! (Oh god I always end up blaming the Spanish, but god they're always involved. this is more than coincidence!)
Heh, that's why I spent all my gil forcing my nooblets through promys, I wasn't going to give them the option to come unprepared. I also made the group take a 2hour anima farming break in the middle of our runs, lol.

Thanks.
It's not my connection, my connection is fine. Something with this machine (which runs on Vista) and the game is not 100% compatible, and the game randomly crashes when it feels like it. Sometimes, I go for days without issue, sometimes I disconnect about 14 times in one Dynamis run.
I would have spent my gil helping them to be pimp... but a 6.4 run costs about 300k for everyo to get items.
The biggest single expense is the CCB Polymer Pump, IIRC.
I had a fool proof way of making sure everyone bring a pump--I made them farm six sets of Pso'Xja chips. After all that effort, no one was going to forget the pump on fight night.
Also, won that fight 1/1, not counting the dry run. I threatened to make everyone go back to farm more chips if they fail. (OK, I didn't actually do that--they were just good players.) CoP is nearly as much fun even when I don't need it myself!

Campaign Battle in Garliage Citadel [S]. Nearly an hour of staring at NPC tropps. Beastmen's army never arrived. Ended with a measly 430 exp for for casting a few Protect on NPCs and some self-buffs.
Probably would have made better exp/hour leveling my NPC.

I had a Promy-Vahzl run break up because of an argument about buying or farming anima ... but really, if I say I'm leaving now to farm anima and would anybody like to come along, that doesn't mean I'm leaving in 20 minutes!
