Note to self #1: A well prepared player brings useful things to parties, such as a warp item. I am such a player.
Note to self #2: A PLD who asks "Anyone has a PL?" is a completely legitimate excuse to use that warp item and disband immediately.
Obviously, that PLD has no interest in tanking. That means my SCH, playing healer, dies on the first critter. A long fight with PLD provoking reluctantly after much prodding--the WAR voked, the DRG voked, the WAR and DRG voked some more.
PLD? Just one Provoke, and not a single cure. I was K.O.'ed with the PLD at full MP and 95% HP.
Warping home beforehand would've saved me some experience points and much grief.

On the plus side, it kinda felt good to be able to say "Wow. The worst PLD ever. You win." in party chat and not feeling the least bit of guilt. (Of course, may have made a stronger impression if I was in a more dignified pose than being a lump on the ground.)

yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water. - Mugaku

Wow, hate tanks like that ><;
And also, I totally agree on your note to self two
Lyonheart's pet peeve #221: Why aren't the quest logs listed in alphabetical order? It's such a pain to scroll through the list to see if I've completed a specific quest. Missions I can understand being listed in story order. But quests? Quests which form a chain are grouped together, but other than that, there doesn't seem to be any particular way that they're ordered in the log.
Lyonheart
lvl 75 WAR, 75 BST, 75 BLM, 75 NIN, 47 SCH
Cooking 100.0+3+3, Culinarian's Signboard, Raw Fish Handling, Noodle Kneading, Patissier
Fishing 60
Really, the only time that's excusable is if you're COR/NIN pulling for a burn PT and nothing but or if you're under level 50. If you're not there to do damage, then having low damage bullets for the sake of pulling makes a bit of sense, but otherwise you're just being cheap.
But I can't give COR/WHM and COR/RNG the same benefit of a doubt. COR/RNG is there to DD, pure and simple - go big or get out. COR/WHM is being a cheap little punk to start with, the least you can do is allow your Quick Draws to do the best possible damage by keeping updated on bullets for your level.
But then, the elemental cards cost gil too. Oh noes! I restock on these maybe every three months since the six elemental shots drain slowly.
Seriously, if the spending bothers you, do all other CORs a favor and level BRD instead.
Level 75 Corsairs with the level 22 Bullets.

Reminds me of RNGs who merit and kill hnms with scorpion arrows. I have a few rng friends who use them on regular mobs in dynamis, but then in dynamis you do such a small fraction of damage to an individual mob that its really not a big deal. Outside of that it really irritates me.
I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

I agree! Nothing says "You totally sucked A$$ as a PLD" BETTER than /party chatting it out as a dead lump on the ground. Evidence speaks for itself what? I mean Clearly you're dead, and this yutz has almost full MP......
You know, it didn't really apply to me before, but now....
My pet peeve: FFXI's incompatibility with Windows Vista.
Seriously. It's ridiculous.
Fuck you, S-E. Fuck you in the ass with a horse's cock.
Even with Vista POL? >_>;
language! Even this fool doesn't make that string on forums!
Actually, he had full MP, not "almost full". That's 95/95. (Not exaggerating when I wrote he didn't cure even once.)
HP wise, he was in white, missing no more than 5%. I cured him after his one Provoke when he dropped to yellow, and dropped him a Regen. Yes, totally stupid move; should have let him die then dance over his broken body.
At random times, for no apparent reason, I get a "PlayOnline Viewer has stopped working." message which completely crashes the game. Meaning no matter what I'm doing - sky, dynamis, xping, hanging out and chatting with people - I have to completely re-log myself back into the game. It's terribly frustrating. One Dynamis run, I d/c'ed about 12 times from Vista fucking me over. It's far from fixed.
When I do get my PC hooked up again (there's just no place to put it where I'm at now, which is why I'm on the laptop), I'll be glad to get back on XP.
