When I quit, I didn't give shit to anyone. That way on the chance I came back, I'd have it. I came back, and it was there. (Except the Vermy, which Sev muled to the wrong thing, but it wasn't 'mine' so much as a gift from someone who really did never come back.)

But now that I'm thinking about quitting again, and this time permanently, I still won't give my gear away. Because it's mine.

Sad when you get out of a game, you think it was better, then you get back in it for a month or two and you remember why you quit. And I've remembered. I came back, I retried... I wasn't impressed. I think I'm done. Again.

LotR/PSU onry from now on. Until Bioware gets my KotOR MMO out. *happy*

If i were to full time shift away from FFXI to another MMO it might be Star Trek online depending how well they make it as a good time sink. And how well they gather players to actually work together like how CoP was most of the time.

WHM's that dont haste.

In any LS event I do, I'm generally in the tank party, along with a WHM and the tanks.

Theres this one WHM that is great in all other aspects of WHM'ing, but he just refuses to Haste people. I mean, come on, the other WHM's manage to do it fine.

Dynamis-Xarc when demons are spamming AOE slow, he waits for DV Erase...>.>

It doesnt really affect me directly but if I'm there providing 6 fuckng Refreshes, Hasting myself and Phalanx II'ing when necessary, I cant see why the WHM can get away with not hasting.

I had one guy who used to be on my friend list but every single time he talked to me was to ask for money or some sort of favour so I don't bother anymore. He still says hi if we bump into each other in game though, last time we saw each other in passing he checked me a couple of times in quick succession, I was wearing my Astral Ring, and the conversation went like this:

him: Hey!
me: Hi, how are you?
him: good, been leveling whm
me: nice
him: I can't afford an astral though
*pause*
him: Yeah none of my friends will lend me one
*pause*
him: I feel so unloved, they won't even lend me one little astral
me: Yeah that's too bad.

I mean come one >< Not really so much a pet peeve because it made me laugh but it never ceases to surprise me that people who do this sort of thing actually think they are fooling anyone.


The things that annoy me most in game generally boil down to stupidity, rudeness or selfishness but the area of this that's getting to me at the moment is players who are incapable of showing up for a mission/static/event that they have promised to come to ready for it and on time.

Obviously stuff happens, some of it is important and that I really don't mind. What does bother me are the whole host of stupid reasons for not coming that some people seem to find acceptable. Dropping out 5 minutes before start time to go out and get drunk. Going on a pop nm run instead because whoever it is really wants the item. Deciding they are bored and are going to watch TV instead. Turn up with none of the preperation done and trying to pressure the static into helping them get the item instead of doing the mission.

My personal favourite so far has been someone who got an event (that he was providing a necessary job for) delayed 3 hours, just for him, so he could go clothes shopping. He sauntered in nearly 4 hours late, didn't apologise or even seem aware that he might have been inconsiderate or rude.

The things that really gets me is that these kinds of people people are usually the first to be angry if someone does it to them, usually get angry with you if you confront them about how they are behaving. The usual excuse is something that boils down to 'it's just a game', yes it's just a game but I am a real person and you just wasted my time. It's rude and it's going to make people unwilling to help or include you.

Come on, is this necessary? You're not even doing a skillchain, turn the call off. My ears are bleeding because your call is blaring through my headphones. I actually /blisted the PLD because of it. Hope he didn't need anything from me (LOL I was the WHM too).

That being said, a BIG HUGE PET PEEVE of mine in this game is that I can't disable or at least lower the volume of calls. I also hate that I can't lower the volume of the login screen. So while I log out to my mule, I can't chat with anyone on Vent because I can't hear a god damn thing. While it's something we've all gotten used to at this point, (waiting for someone to log completely until we say anything to them) it's still freaking annoying. I mean come on, I can turn down the game music volume, doesn't it stand to reason that I would be able to turn down the login screen music?

Can I borrow some gil too? 5-10 mil would be more than enough, it should be nothing for someone with such awesome things on sale.

That, along with not being able to adjust aspect ratio for the char selection/creation screens suck big time.

I personally use the QuiteCalls and QuietMarches dat packs to turn the loud calls (1-5 I believe) to about half volume with QuietCalls, and the intro music (ALL of them) muted.

Speaking of which, that reminds me: I need to check to see if QuietMarches is updated to include the WoG music yet. That's REALLY starting to get on my nerves.

Iv had such a crap week ; ;

- Buffer from 16k -> 8k from a single (very) bad KS99
- Lost the will to grind any exp at all
- Spent all day (well hours) in Campaign to rebuild buffer then got bored and head to sky...
- Died for the 3rd time soloing SC, this time it was a stupid shadow miscount, thus losing all my buffer I rebuilt.
- Game is getting boring.......................................

EDIT: People who run fucking 10 miles away to hold 1 or 2 mobs to solo in Campaign. Go DIAF.

It was a bad week for drops. 7 KS99 runs... Siren's Hair was the best drop. I actually handed out 6752 per person for everyone else that helped on my orb.

Did a few BC40 runs later and didn't have anything worth more then 12k. lol

Dynamis-Beaucedine didn't have a single AF that went to the top two tiers.

Oh well, here's hoping things improve in the new year.
