Server lag. Impossible to do anything some days, just too many people. 3 minutes for the silver coin warp taru to pop up is ridiculous.

Stop transfering to Bahamut....

I wonder if that's server lag or client lag or connection clog...

It could be that the server is running perfectly fine, but your connection is clugged from having to download all the information about every player in the zone. (I think you even get their TP info...Why? I've no idea...) Or, it may be that the client just has too much data to plow through, and cannot display NPCs in a timely manner.

Whatever the cause may be, S-E should really do something about it, and it's probably the company needs to tinker with on the architecture level.

At weekends, it doesn't really matter what zone you are in. You can be in Ulu Range, with noone else there, but nearly 5k people on the server hurts after a while.

Holy cow, that's a lot of people on at once. Is that because of the drawing power of BG? (BG is on Bahamut, right?)

Probably yes, it is. BG closed their recruitment a long time ago, but still they come (hell my shell has about 12 server transfers on it's own)

That's odd. I remember up to 6k people on fenrir at a time in the old days, and it wasn't noticeable at all. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of your client lagging (especially the warp taru thing-- I highly doubt that was a problem with the server, sounds more like your client had too many people on screen to draw it)

Could also be your network/connection, but just 5k people shouldn't hurt that badly.

Then again, I think Bahamut is older than Fenrir, isn't it? If SE doesn't upgrade their server hardware much, that could explain it, although you'd think they'd all be identical.

I never realized how stable Fenrir is till I moved to Kujata, 700 people Besieged was still a pain but it was pretty good compared to Kujata.

Yeah, it feels like most people are either offline or only playing for HNM stuff. o.O;

And yet lag is much worse than Fenrir's with less people in the areas.

Losing a quest item to an NPC. A subligar no less. Apparently no one is allowed to have a quest item returned to them, so I got screwed. Got another subligar later that night. But, the GM made me laugh, so it was okay in the end.



By subligar, I mean the ones you trade in for the nifty level 50 armor, Gaudy Harness, Rapparee Harness, etc.
