FFXI in a nutshell:

Solo for 40 levels due to lack of people seeking.

De-level over 50 times through 1-75.

Each battle consists of one of the following creatures: crab, crab, crab.

Battle renactment: Melee, auto-attack to 100tp, use ws. Casters, spam cure.

Endgame consists of no use of skillchains, but rather, how fast you can mindless auto attack.

MERIT PARTY NEEDS MORE MERITZ BRAGGHHGHGHGHG FEED MEEEE BLAGHHHFLAHR.

Endgame consists of every job but your job, you're not wanted.

Have Warrior and WHM leveled to 37. You are set for the rest of the game sub wise.

I thought SAM was the new "It" sub these days.

Anyhow, on to my personal irk and rant, pulled from here:

Believe me, some of us DON'T want it. I'd love nothing more than to give WHMs back their core role, to be again considered a last resort for main healing.

It'd be nice to see again parties that don't contain the following terms: "Caedarva Mire," "TP/SATA burn," or "RDM main heal."

It's reached the point where I don't even party anymore. I find my happy place in Tu'Lia, culling Flamingoes for exp, and mostly only then to keep my cap post-Dynamis.

BP, I'm with you, man. My best solution: Find a BLM friend who solos on puddings. He will appreciate your higher enfeebling magic for Gravity, Bind and Sleep (if you need to sleep) and Refresh, and the quicker kills you can produce by throwing your own nukes in. Grim and I have it down to a science.

He casts Tier IV nuke on the pudding. Spell goes off, I Gravity it. By then he's already moved up and started casting another Tier IV, and I can cast a Tier III. Move up a bit further, I cast another Tier III, He casts AMII. Stun as necessary, sleep if it starts to act retarded. You know by now how to react to a resistant/stubborn/asshole mob. Finish the mob with Tier III or a Drain. Refresh, rest up. Buff up, (really only necessary for the BLM cause he will take the hate 90% of the time) rinse, and repeat.

We spend a couple hours together every night and we always walk away with at least one merit each. Granted it's not much, but it's a lot more fucking fun than the bullshit main healing.

Same goes for a RDM BLM duo or another BLM thrown in for trio in The Garden of Ruhmet on Aerns....we were doing (duo) chain 3 for like 300+ exp without a band...

Anyways, not so much a pet peeve, I just thought I'd post it to let eveyone laugh at me.

Spent hours (well, 1) getting the Bearclaw Pinnacle ENM item and waiting for damned clear weather, went into Brother ENM - RDM/BLM and RDM/NIN.

Pulled, CS/Nuke, Vert, dead. How?

I had poison on and I fucking converted. LOL. Shame on me.

That was fun, but Ix'drg is a bitch. My buffer on blm appreciates the efforts though, I'm now back up to 4k from cap (still want it higher though).

Well most of the time (say, 95%) I won't main heal a meripo, though every once in a while I need to be reminded why it sucks so bad. Either that or I'm just a glutton for punishment.

And LOL Bautier/hongman, I've gotten killed from Convert, too, and mine was MUCH stupider. We were in Davoi working on RDM AF1 for two people in my LS (quite a while ago) and we had like 6 orcs on us. So I'm trying to hit my Aspir macro on a sleeping mob. Well, Convert is right next to it. "BAM OH SHIT WRONG MACRO" I have 25 HP left, all the mobbies wake up as I'm doing this and whack me dead. Funny thing about that, my NIN friend was like, "OMG Aks I'm so sorry!"

Until I told him it was my fault, then they were all like /laugh.

That's why I don't macro convert. But also, I don't really play RDM anymore, so I guess it doesn't matter. ><;

So, I just tried to read the BLU forums over at Alla, since I don't know much about the job, and wanted as many opinions as possible. Jesus Christ. Talk about...actually, let's not talk about it. It was just too awful.
