Personally, I hate the 4+2 set up, mainly because half the bards on my server think that a rdm doesn't need ballad as well, then the melee get lazy with shadows etc... meaning they take too much damage.

It really comes down to the people you play with in the merit party, End Game LS merits pts > random people in merit pts, I need a ridill (;_; )

Reminds me of this guy from my ls saying, "Throw some ridills on that sh*t" >_>;; As for LS party, yea, way better and effect than pick up parties. Though we mainly have 2 sam/thfs pld/nin, pld/war, whm and rdm (either is me at times with another ls person). Though hate along, pld/nin > pld/war, and SATA Gekko barely keeps hate on the pld/war, though we love just watching him loose to the /nin. I think its a general agreement, the pick up party style of exp/merit is just too lazy and more headache inducing than camping the kings or dealing with rmt at despot.

I'm rather annoyed by the people who craft in between fights. I know that mages like to make drinks to use on the spot instead of trying to carry a zillion of them in their already limited inventory space, but it just bugs me.

We had a BLU last night who was crafting in between fights, but he was never done when the fight began! I happen to believe that if he had not been crafting between fights to the point where it was overlapping the battles that we would have had faster chains. On top of that, heaven forbid that anyone could Curaga them or they'd lose their materials. It just doesn't seem very efficient, and really it just bugged me yesterday.

I've never said that I don't like a proper set up with a designated tank, and SATA, but at the end of the day, I'm in one of the top end HNMLS on my server, frankly, a tank isn't going to hold hate for very long with 2 ridill wars and a blackbelt monk hasted to the hilt, nor is a mob going to be alive long enough to set up for SATA. And in fact, I haven't been on rdm in a meripo for a very long time, I'm mainly on whm, attempting to get to 75 (level and a half to go!). The reason we stick to ls parties - because we work together well, and we can talk trash on vent at the same time. Yes, it sometimes goes wrong, and we can wipe, but we laugh and lets face it, it is only a bit of xp to get back.
IfritnoItazura, 3+3 is honestly the most effective set up imo. It is the best balance. And hey, wherever works for you. We go to Nyzul Isle Mamool Ja as our main merit area, but before that we used to spend a lot of time in Ulu Range - better than fighting for mobs in thickets or mire!

Quick question, why wars want to use ridills that could get them killed in merit parties? I understand how much monk can get hate, but for war, with the subs out there and weapons to them wouldn't they at least try something that isn't the standard cliche that you'd expect for wars who actually get the ridills? And most mobs if you do try setting up right can be SATA for lvl 3 skill chain to be finished real nicely. Mhmmm deca weaps + light+ fire/banish 3 mb @_@; And only area I find hard to compete is thickets when its those war x4 brdx2 parties that horde EVERY mob in the area........................*snarles recalling it*

Why set up the party so that one guy can do a bunch of damage, when you can set it up so that everyone can do a lot of damage, and the mob dies fast and everyone gets exp, hurrah, more merit points for everyone.

A WAR (or any job) that can't manage shadows is going to die in meripo, Ridill or not. And if they can manage their shadows, then it doesn't matter.

I dont have a ridill and tanks can't hold hate off me... and go go spamming rampage!

I just don't believe in WARs in endgame for that reason......

Actaully War tends to go in for war/thf spam steel cyclone. Im usually too busy tanking on nin/war.
