Re: What's your pet peeve in FFXI?
Problem is, no one who is a n00b thinks they're a n00b. Who'd willingly join that server? Would it be based on recommendation?
How many times have you played your job opposite to someone else's standard, or just was off that day, and been labeled a n00b for it?
While I don't agree with isolating newbies on a server(no reason they shouldn't get some help from experienced players), I am a bit interested in seeing the results of putting a bunch of random newbies on a server, isolated from any experienced players, forums, or guides in general(with the exception of the new online guide). I'd like to see how their methods of play evolve as they progress, see if it differs from the mainstream.
But okey-dokey! Back on topic!
Today's beef: people who bitch and moan about getting an NM drop, but are unwilling to put the time in to camp it. Chick in my shell constantly grouses about getting/getting help for Joyeuse, but is unwilling to wait for him when the window opens. What, does she think it's gonna fall out of the sky for her?
I camped that boneless bastard nearly a month getting ToD before finally getting the claim(and assistance), for the kill. And man, was it worth it.
Does a 21-24 hour respawn suck balls? You betcha. Do I think they ought to implement another method of spawning Charybdis? Sure. But if you want the item badly enough, you'll put in the time you know is required to get it, not bitch when you don't and it doesn't come your way.
