When I enter a product market, I think of it like being in a party. You're all there to earn as much as you can, and each person has as much opportunity to screw the the others as the next. If you do something crazy and tank the market, you just screwed a whole bunch of people out of time and effort that should have been fruitful. There's no rule against doing it, but it's professional courtesy not to do so just the same as it's professional courtesy not to wipe a party that isn't performing as well as you want. Everyone reaches their goals faster if we all play the game properly, in this case the price game.
And yes, it's good business to diversify and track multiple markets and whatnot to minimize your losses, but just because sh*t happens doesn't mean it should when it's entirely avoidable.
