Jesus fucking Christ, we were there for over two hours and only got two pops out of it. It has been a long ass time since I had to add someone to my shit list. Over a year and at least one server since the last one, but...ugh. This was really really bad.

Crossed the 40 hour mark farming for DNC base feet. I had all but given up going to Vunkerl to farm them, thinking they would drop while I was there doing something else. So my brother talks me into going for his DRG feet and augmented Diamond Rings for his BLM. Within 10 minutes he has his DRG feet. We get PUP x2 (which I already have), BLU, and something else (can't remember). Just peeved at my luck.

Sidenote: If you need feet from Aby-Vunkerl, ask me to come with you. Anyone with me gets their drop within minutes of arriving.

What was the problem? Competition for Heqet or people who don’t know what they’re doing?
Was it a shout PUG where someone blocked out lanterns? I always wondered how well those worked.

As early as possible I started saving any feet I got, regardless of job…just incase one day I wanted to try it out. It was definitely come in handy.



Anyway…pet peeve for today. Same shit different day.

Did dynamis last night with another Bst friend. Place had maybe 4 other people in it. So not a lot of competition.
Now I’ve been tweaking my Runitor set a lot and starting to get ~2500 damage off pretty regularly. Sometimes times upwards of 4k (though haven’t broken it yet ). Anyway, point is ‘I’ don’t need help killing my targets. By the time I proc and WS, the mob is at 10% if not dead. Even if I aggro 2 mobs, I can hold my own very well.

I kept telling my partner to go fight other mobs and pretend like were not in a party. We’ll get much more coins. Instead, he kept jumping on my mob and just hacking away. Plenty of mobs were killed w/o procs….plenty. He also afk’d a few times for 5-10 minutes a pop (well over 30 minutes total). Didn’t bring jugs…or pet food. Would /heal for long periods of time to cure his pet instead of soloing an easy mob while he ‘stays’ his pet nearby.

Somehow he didn’t notice he was only using 1 axe for half the run. Eventually he caught on and was main handing a Zoraal Axe…off handed Glyph (/sigh). I’m not going to bitch about the axes. However I will bitch that your offhanding a much stronger axe ><.
Oh and when we entered, I asked him to kill the nearby Avatar Idol TE (in Bubu…it’s near the zone). By the time he found/killed it, I had already gotten the other 4 TEs.

We left with about 220 coins….pretty sure I can easily solo 150+.

The guy leading the run was just fucking retarded. We had competition on Heqet so he had the brilliant idea that we should skip building Amber in order to cleave for TEs. TEs...I mean really, what the fuck man. It took us nearly two hours to get two pop sets. Then the other members of the team were equally pants-on-head retarded with the exception of the BLU.

We had a Black Mage who fucked up sleeping pretty bad during the cleaving, got himself killed and then refused to sleep the horde of frogs after he was raised and the horde was beginning to chew through the rest of the party. He was all "but I'm weakened". So fuck what? I used to sleep shit while weakened in Dynamis at level 65. Get your shit together you sad excuse for a mage.

The cleaving in general was pretty damn clusterfucky. The Warrior(party leader) refused to get amber for the longest time, and even asking him why I still don't know. The dude was pretty terribad too. I didn't see any PDT set while pulling, nor fanatics drink being popped. In fact I'm not sure he swapped any gear at all. He certainly wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, when he ran up to me and asked for Protect I was already a little grumpy so I gave him Protect. Not protect V, just protect and he ran along as though all that mattered was having that little icon in his line of buffs. The guy just made lots and lots of bad decisions throughout the night and it drove me up the fucking wall. I seriously considered teleporting them out of the zone.

More terribad things: forgettable THF and BST both had to be told to stop hitting Heqet so we could proc red. We lost at least one KI that way. Oh and did I mention we never got Heqet's KI from anything other than killing him?

There was just so much wrong with this party on so many levels that I can't even begin to properly catalog it all.

I swear, I need to just start fucking with incompetent people from now on. My sympathy is all gone.

We don’t ever work on TEs anymore. Go in and build amber asap (w/in 20 minutes) and cleave Apkallus (they don’t ruby).
Claiming Heqet where we can till everyone has that KI wheather its from Mobster or chest. Then Spam the little fish.

Retime/rejob if needed and beat down the big fish with 4-5 Blms and a Thf. Dies pretty quick.

And I’ll be honest with you…that does sound horrible. Even Rook and I can usually build 2 sets in 2 hours as Bst/Bst. And we only have 2/13 red procs lol.

Also…sounds like that WAR was pretty damn bad. our War who is pretty good at her job I’d say. Will make sure to pop Fantasics and always makes sure to get a restore chest or a revitalizer. Low damage and Mighty strikes pretty much every run. And TP is almost instant with retaliation up.

It just blows my mind that anyone would specifically try to cleave for TEs. There is never any reason to go after TEs specifically. They will rain from the heavens as you go after KIs. It's not like we should need more than two hours for a run at CC.

Just so we're clear as to why we're making fun if it YM, Enspell IIs have their accuracy calculated on-strike, while tier I enspells calculate their accuracy on-cast. What this basically means is that enspell IIs get resisted all to hell, and the magic evasion down effect they provide really doesn't make up for it. The only reason I'd cast tier II enspells these days is to see the pretty animation. If I want to add magical damage to my sword, I use tier I enspells.

I knew the damage was calculated on each hit, but it never occurred to me that the magic accuracy would probably be checked on each swing too. Fail, Square, really fail.

However, I know YM is doing a lot of soloing for EXP these days and he pretty much always single-wields, so they're not necessarily useless for what he's doing.

I'm not entirely sure about the accuracy being calculated on-strike, but that's my understanding of it. Regardless, the point is that tier I enspells tend to do more damage overall.
