I'm annoyed when people shout for Dyna runs and say "Currency X, AF Freelot." Like...what the fuck about the currency? Everyone paid the same 50k to get an hourglass, who the hell are you to say that only the AF will be freelot?

The entire script of CoP is in desperate need of some localization. I find almost all of the dialog to be offensively Japanese. What ever happened to localizing stuff so it didn't sound absolutely stupid?

The way they word a lot of it comes across like really bad anime tropes. I'll dig through my screenshot folder later and dig up some examples.

Doesn't most of it have to do with the Zilart and the (I'm blanking on the name right now)Kuluu? So, the philosophical stuff would be helping to explain the races further.

I'm still not sure what that's supposed to convey. It's poor script writing, bad localization or some combination thereof.

There's also a bit where Tenzen says something like "I am deliriously happy with your response". Sadly I don't have a screenshot of that one but it set off a bunch of warning bells and alarms screaming "this is a direct translation and no effort was made to localize this so it sounded remotely sensible".

It's just stuff like that that drives me up the wall, especially since a good chunk of the script is actually decent, but there's just all these little sections that are terribly handled.

So upon further reflection, no it's not the entire script that bothers me, just certain sections of it.

I tend to read ol' Nag as basically commenting on the game itself. He's basically saying to the player character, "You don't know your past. You may never have even had one. You keep trying to find more clues while adventuring... but what do you hope to find" In that particular instance I think it's the game commenting on itself. Seems like an inside joke to me.
