"One of each" GoV pages, when there is a small group of mob pops of the same or similar size as the total for the whole page, and the mob type is random at every pop. Such as:

Cardians in Horutoto that have 4 types and 4 or 5 pops, and even with the updated 5-minute repop, the one you need seems to never repop. And for some reason Swords (PLD) seem to pop more often than the rest. Fight a Swords + a Cups (WHM) and you'll have a fun time with them spamming Cure spells.

Page 5 in KRT, Goblin Leecher/Mugger/Gambler, two of each, six pop points. If you're lucky you'll get an even distribution, if you're not it'll take many minutes for the right one to pop. Page 3 with the previous tier of gobbies is not as bad because there are at least 9 pops near the book, and more elsewhere.

Three Mage Gate access is given in a side quest that can be achieved after completing the first mission that needs it (3-2). So it's only really a problem once, and then only if you don't know anybody who has gone that far on WIndurst and had enough clue to do the quest. One. Freaking. Rolanberry

Not to mention the length of the cutscenes. Many of them after the halfway point are over 15 minutes long, or at least feel like it.

So I decided to level up my WAR today. Tonight, I signed back in, and was still in CN.

I seek for a pt. There is a BLM there (who was standing there all day with a lvl 17), and the alliance picks him up. Turns out, the lvl 17 is his mule. The alliance eventually picked it up after a spot came open.

BLM asked about picking him up, and I stated "why don't you level the correct way" which he in turn stated "why don't you" (classy!). At level 39, I was doing more damage in that alliance than 2 other people including him. So when I threw that at him, he shut up. Amazing.

That was my cue to leave. Really? A lvl 17 anything has NO business in CN. Not to mention the hypocrite alliance lead who said not to invite him, and he was the one who invited him. Wow.

Oh yeah, and then there's that silly wait for a whole hour to get a new KI if you fail a fight. Yeah, we really need a rate limit on fights that only give you a clear to the next mission. As if the walk from Fire in the Hole back to Solitary Ant wasn't long enough. Or the walk back from a fight in Xarc_S to get a new KI.

Hey, SE, do we really need that? Did we even need it when WotG was new? Get rid of that unnecessary cockblock already. (Yes, I know some fight KIs you can get right next to the fight entrance, but so what? What does SE want us to do, sit around for half an hour?) If you fail a prime avatar fight you don't lose your KI and have to run back to Windurst or wherever, and those have a gil reward.

The other day in Gusgen I saw a WHM12 standing around with his flag up... for at least three hours. In that time he could have easily gotten to 15 in Saruta, and been high enough level to at least maybe be useful as a sync. He never did get an invite from what few people were fighting there. Leeches gonna leech.

I've noticed that a lot. Playing FFXI is just more than some people are willing to commit to.

Update. The BLM was still in alliance in CN when I got on this morning, as well as his new lvl 47 mule. So, I ragged on him about it. I then caught hell from over half the alliance. While they weren't in the same ls, they definitely didn't care about leechers.

So, I left the alliance to take care of some things around the house, and when I got back to the CN, they were still there. Needless to say, I never got an invite.

You're right. Leechers gonna leech. And evidently, there are people who will stick up for them.

Not being able to play ffxi is now a pet peeve...

Somehow my power button on my computer (at least I hope that’s all it is) stopped working and I cant turn the thing on

If anyone on Cerb happens to see Rookieguy or Saboro online…I’d be greatful if you could shoot them a /tell saying my computer is broken and I’ll be back asap.

Drain samba doesn't actually deal any damage to the mob.

I used to have some pretty intense arguments with some dancers about this as RDM when I was in CN and past there. I had one dancer keep on equipping HP+ gear, and unequipping it and doing all these macros for it and such thinking that they where doing extra damage. Even after linking the wiki and shit, they still argued about it.

Peeve: Party leaders who don't actually know where they are going. I joined a CoP shout for 8-3. Myself and three other people that answered the shout didn't have the race specific KIs or the Twilight and Dawn KIs. He said he just needed a minute to get his bearings (in the Garden of Ruh'met, without a map). So he led us around for 90 minutes and then warped out in frustration.

I didn't expect him to hold my hand through it all. But when I asked him if he wanted me to wiki the maps, he said no. Myself and the three JP players in the group reformed and finished.

I don't mind doing stuff on my own. I'm pretty good at avoiding aggro, and I can read a map (even if it's in the other room). Just don't waste our time wandering if you don't know where you are going. And, when you shout, say that you need the KIs before hand.

This is why I don't lead parties or events. I don't want to be that guy.

Eh, it's not hard to lead parties. Just don't be a complete dumbass. If you're shouting, like Squiggs said, shout what needs to be said. Just don't shout for the sake of forming a party.

                            My current peeve: skilling up.

I'm trying to get my Staff skill up so I can try out Cataclysm for cleaving on my DRG, but it's pretty under-leveled and taking forever to get it up to speed.

I don't want to waste time skilling up, I want to go murder things en masse for tons of shiny treasure chests and lots of loot.

I've never tried but people say you can skill up to 75cap on the fortalice in castle zvahl in (S) area.
I think that's kinda correct. From what i remember engage then afk for a few they don't attack.

It's been noted here once or twice but I think SE changed the roaming path of one of the demons in the area. Where if it happens to roam right at the edge of it's area, it can agro you.

I've recently skilled up there (afk) about 4 or 5 times. Only once I came back and was dead. It was over an hour though and I was already at my HP, so I couldn’t tell if I was as far down the steps as possible.

none the less, it is a good spot if it's not already taken. Get a weaoib with as low damage as possible and whack away
