You'll be just in time. As we speak, SayWhatNow is getting closer and closer to Abyssea-related material. We're still a ways off from doing anything major... but those of us with access are hoarding our KI's in anticipation for those members climbing their way to 75+. Once we have a good chunk of people, we're opening up a can of NM whoopass to get as many Atmas/Abyssites as we can for them. I and at least 1 other member have completed the main Abyssea Senario quests and can buy/use Brews. Raydeus is also only 2 bosses away from doing the same.

We have a BLM that was able to duo w/ a BRD several of the zones while we did others so it doesn't have to take very long if you have players able to do something like that. Though admittedly, my BLM friend is freakin' epic good though he's never done any Limbus prior.

I lack members with the appropriate Mission progress in CoP to make that happen. I have to help a few people progress more before I can expect things like that.

I am aware of the parallel progression through zones though. It's definately something to consider.

Maybe I'm looking at the BG thread too much. But I'm noticing a lot of this in my LS as well.

We all know my view on playing Final Fantasy XI. I believe everybody should be allowed to play on their own terms. If I have a certain play style, that ought to be respected. On the flip side, I respect anybody and everybody's right to refuse extending an invitation to somebody to do group events because they believe that the person will not do their best to contribute to the group.

Another thing I believe is that, as long as people put in the proper dues and proper effort, we all ought to get the things we want.

But what I can't stand is when people make fun of others for certain decisions they make that obviously take dedication to do. This isn't stuff like wanting to go to a party as a DRK/SCH to be a totally awesome nuker. This is stuff like seeing a random WHM with Jeuno and making disparaging comments about how he as level 85 Mjollnir. I see things like this and I personally admire the effort put into getting it. I don't see this and think, "Omglol! He's probably some gimp melee WHM who whiffs and TP feeds Dynamis Lord and his LS probably sucks and he's probably a scientologist and likes eating cranberry sauce with his sea bass!"

It doesn't come up often, but it does enough that I get very pissed off every time I see comments like that.

Agreed Ketaru... that's pretty petty and immature.

We had a RDM in NoIdea that was obsessed w/ subligar. The biggest goal for him was to get Vir Subligar. That is all he worked towards. It's a fairly useless piece of gear but very expensive. So many people would mock him about it in /l. Yes, I thought it was a waste, myself, but I never lowered myself to mock him for his choice. Now some of his suggestions on how to play my job, I'd politely disagree with but that's about it. He finally got his tremendously expensive panties and soon after left FFxi having fulfilled his criteria. People can play how they want as far as I'm concerned. Seeing someone else's goals stray from the usual, "Must be the leetest EVAR" is pretty refreshing.

To be fair, BG has a rule against making fun of people in town, because you don't know if that's just town gear or what. Usually if someone posts it, folks tear them a new one.

Peeve: the whole goddamn playerbase as portrayed by Port Jeuno.

There was a guy shouting in Jeuno today for a group to go clear Dynamis Jeuno. I swear half the zone was mocking him for trying to put a group together just to clear the zone. I've been trying to get city clears for months. MONTHS! I haven't had any luck with it and it really just pissed me off to see everyone going "lol, everyone has that already nub".

Not everyone's been playing forever.
Not everyone has a Dynamis shell.
Not everyone has a Dynamis shell that isn't pants-on-head retarded.
Some of us have been pulling teeth trying to find a way to get those goddamn city clears so we can go play in the northlands.

So to the playerbase I say: Fuck you. Fuck you with a rusty wooden spoon you bunch of cockbags. I will dance on your grave, dig you up and then skullfuck your corpse because goddammit the world doesn't work the way you think it does. Not everyone is lucky enough to have such a smooth path of progress as you did and it isn't for lack of effort.

To be fair, sometimes that is the solution. But when it comes to Dyna clears it's like "Go back in time and get these when they were more popular." Which isn't really useful advice.
