How the hell does Bastion work?

I can't seem to find the mobs or the structures we're supposed to be defending and then the battle is over in sixty seconds. What the fuck?

The battles are like 5 steps from the Bastion NPC.

I was sitting right next to the Bastion NPC and had a battle start and end in under two minutes. Never saw a single enemy show up.

Yeah... Bastion rocks when it works... but I was pretty disappointed with how random it seems to be.

Where were you? In Aby-Mis it is a short walk away, clockwise around the area where the spiders are (not sure the direction). You can't necessarily see the enemies coming. Definitely never lasted long, but you can rack up a fairly impressive amount of xp and notes in a short time.

I was in Misreaux coast(or however that's spelled). I just haven't had any luck finding an actual battle. I got my pennant and wandered around looking for things to kill and then it was all over. Very discouraging. I think I'm going to end up just doing Resistance Ops to slowly build the credits for my AF3 pants.

It's south of the Bastion NPC. The battles occur at the Pulse Martellos.

I was in Misareaux doing the cookbook quest and stumbled across a few battles. Heal the NPC BLM and hope he -ga kills a few things, or Diaga and hope someone kills the things before they kill you. (speaking as a WHM)

Resistance Ops are okay, but only one an hour at a maximum of 70 credits (I think that's right?) could take awhile to build up.

I'm finding the late 50s to be a trial. The mob selection in that range, even with FoV or GoV is frustrating.

Also, I keep having problems with my connection to FFXI and the internet in general but that's more on my end. Still obnoxious though.

I'm having the same issue. There's a huge gap between Xarcabard and Ro' Maeve when it comes to FoV. I haven't quite been brave enough or had the time to look into GoV yet. So I'm just spamming Xarc for now with my Novenial Ring on. Everything is pretty ez and 250xp per is pretty nice... still wish it was better and I was capping my blue magic skill a bit higher though.

There's a GoV page (though I'm not sure which one) or two in Fei'Yin for the late 50's, I think they even stay DC until 60 or 61.
